Bingham bow projects?

Has anyone undertaken this task? Thought I might try at some point.

I did several years ago.  Binghams had everything I needed for the build with the exception of the "lam beam" I used for the form.

I built a total of four longbows on that form...it was a blast!  Not difficult...just don't be in a hurry.

I'll for a pic of a bow I build for my son Andy...will post it if I can locate.

You may want to throw this out on the Bowyers Bench, if you haven't. I think many started out on Binghams. I am in the process of working on my first Binghams Bow.

I built my first t/d recurve with Bingham plans  back in 2001. I must warn bow building can  get addictive. There's nothing more satisfying than filling the freezer with something you created. First hunting bow made with first trad deer.


A harvest from last year with a static tip bow I designed on my own.

There are a lot of bowyers out there that started with a binghams kit.

I built my first bow off of one. Make sure that you have your form exact though. I borrowed the form from someone else who hadn't made it quite right and the bow came out 20 pounds heavier than what I wanted.

The form itself has very little to do with the end draw weight and everything to do with the geometry of your bow...You must know in advance how your glass / wood laminations stack-up to produce any given draw weight...

I know. I told him what I needed when I ordered and he sent me the stack that should have gotten that for me. The form that I was given ended up being shorter and the recurved tips did not follow the curves on the paper plan as they should have when I held them against each other.
