Hi Guys and Gals, Long time reader from Australia.
I recently aquired an old Damon Hawatt recurve from another bowhunter downunder and just wondered if anyone could give me some history on it? It is a Ventura 80LB @ 28 inches and also says on it HV 1102, and its AMO 66". It came with a new Dacron string but the seller told me he had never strung it.
It is in fairly good condition so I checked it all over, Strung it, fitted a brass nock to the string and have been shooting some 655gr arrrows out of it. Boy it sure does spit them out, anyway if anyone let me know I would appreciate it.Thanks.

I dont know much about them but I have one and really like it. It's a model I don't hear about as often for sure. But mine is a great shooting bow!

80# Ventura!

My spleen would go out the back as fast as the arrow went out the front.

I believe 85# was as high as they offered.  Most I have ever seem are 35# and lower.

Here's a couple threads on the Ventura.  DH was absorbed by Martin Archery.  VERY nice bows.

Ted Fry at Raptor Archery knows as much as most about Howatt bows.  No sure if he has finished moving plus the forest fire was a problem for the people in Hood River, OR.  Try his website for info and email.
