I guess I found my Okies!  Guys, I'm a bit nervous here. To start, I drew into McAlester, Deer Creek, Nov.9-Nov.11 and this was my second time to apply, my first time to get accepted. I would hope I could get some feedback on a good bow. I have been shooting trad for a year now and want to "upgrade" before my hunt. Looking at a FB Grizzly...what do ya'll think? Don't know what all is available to me. Just what BP, Cabela's, and local shops have. Does anyone have any video suggestions that may help with shooting form and need to know things? I have other questions, but this would be a good start!

Welcome Tbear
Check out the sponsor link and the classified ads under traditional bows on the home page. There are so many great bows around. Good luck and condrats on the Macalester hunt. I hunt in ATOKA myself.

Video suggestion:  Shooting with the Masters  3RiversArchery offers it.

Ya might want to make it to the McAlester shoot (check the trad events section). There should be alot of bows to check out and shoot there. You'll also find lots of good people willing to help you out...Terry

Tbear,
Sounds like you may be local to the city area. Check out the OKC Gun Club Mini Jams each month, the second weekend. The first weekend are our monthly club shoots. Aug will be a review of Jams missed and special time for guys that may not usually shoot Trad, but got lucky enough to draw in to Big Mc. We'll be setting them up and trying to answer any questions they may have. Click on my handle and e-mail me with any questions you might have. Like others have said, The McAlester Trad Shoot would be well worth the drive to check out the market and be sure to sign up for the deer tour!      ~Rick

The best video I've seen is "Masters of the Barebow"
"...Watching a buck turn back seeing his form melt away, a hunter will feel an inner smile. There's no other place he wishes to be and never does he feel more alive..."
