Looking good man,
Nice job Roy, say is that your bath tub in the second picture??? :bigsmyl:
Well Dano, it almost has been a couple times:)
:biglaugh:
Hey Roy, I used your dimensions from your build along to glue up a Hickory backed Ipe. She came out of the clamps this morning lookin sweet. Thanks for sharin your knowledge to us bowyer wannabes. :bigsmyl:
You bet Kenny. This bow is for my wife, so I went with the target bow measurements for the mid limb posts. Except, I moved them in closer to the riser by 1 inch from the 16 for the top and 15 5/8th for the bottom of a normal setup. So on this bow the top mid limb post is set at 15 inches and the bottom mid limb post is set at 14 5/8th from the center of the handle. The limb tip posts I increased by 1/2 inch on this bow, from 6 to 6 1/2. She came out of the clamps with 3 1/4 reflex at the tips.
I intend to take the limb tips down to 1/2 wide and my draw weight target is 30 to 35 pounds. The wife was is a wreck years ago and has a problem with her shoulder on her drawing arm, so she can't handle much more than 35 pounds without causing her pain..
Nice bow and nice house!
Cut her out today and have it on the tillering tree. Looks very good so far.
