Title: The SWAN has Landed
Post by: sticshooter on August 04, 2007, 09:37:00 AM
I was talking with Daniel about a week ago about knives and what not. when he asked if i ever shot a Black Swan. I told him no and he asked if I wanted to swap bows a awhile. I said sure and sent him a RER TD recurve and he sent the swan. Boys this bow flat out SMOKES! Now I like pretty bows with wood handles. BUT I could really get into shooting and owning a swan but it have to be a longbow. Vman you are right Arvid makes a fast bow. This group was the first 3 arrows I shot from the bow at 15 yards.the bow is 43#26" and I draw 29". I will scale her today and chrono her also. I can say this my 5575 GTs trads look like they are rockets out of this bow. If this was a longbow with a wood handle it would be awesome.   (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v83/fishrofmen1/DSCN2834.jpg)    (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v83/fishrofmen1/DSCN2833.jpg)

Serge what is amazing is how fast it is and how well it handles. Very forgiving for being so fast. I plan on shooting at 35 yards maybe 40 just to see how I shoot it at that distance, I noramlly shoot 20 yards. I set up for a very close shot 15 yards and under when I hunt whitetails here. <><

Well went out and did a 37yrd 4 arrow shoot. I know it's not the best group but I don't shoot that far ever. But 25 and in I am very happy with the way I shoot her.  (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v83/fishrofmen1/DSCN2835.jpg)

I had and recently sold a one piece hybrid on here. It is a fantastic bow. I would have kept it but I had to move down in weight. A word of caution though. I considered a 58" because I like shorter bows. Arvid said I would be happier with the 62". I draw 28" on the dot.

Everyone that shot it loved it (or at least it's speed and lack of shock). Three things I would have liked better 1- shorter overall length, 2- a little thinner grip with more locator, 3- I wish I had dropped the weight a little. All those things are personal preference and as far as the weight goes I got what I asked for. I just didn't know that arthritis would creep up so fast! Arvid was great to deal with and his bows are a functional beauty.

Jedi thanks for the info. Arvid knows his beans when it comes to making carbon limb bows. This bow really does smoke them arras. Vman told me awhile back about these bows and he spoke truth. and thanks to Daniel I got the chance to shoot them.<><<><
