I was just curious to see what your favorite broadhead is.....
I don't see a flint head on that list :bigsmyl:
I have always had good luck with Bear Razorheads.
Zephyr Sasquatch
Your list of possibilities is incomplete, but perhaps you're just interested in relatives votes from among that list. I like the STOS -- for flight, strength, and long slender shape (superior penetration). I also like the Eclipse for the Teflon coating. And I'm trying to learn to work with Grizzly, which Dr. Ashby rates as the best factory head for penetrating heavy bone, like an elk scapula. But I swear, that Griz 160 is the dullest factory head I've ever encountered, sharpening a single bevel is difficult (and even moreso if you take it down to the 25 degree bevel Ashby recommends) and the steel is hard. Also has a slightly rough finish (just opposite the Teflon Eclipse) that requires polishing. But I'm determined to come as close to all of Ashby's recommendations as I can this year, within the realm of woody arrows (he uses graphite to get extreme forward-of-center balance) and see how it performs on elk. Sorry, I was making a poll with the all the ones I could think of off the top of my head. I knew I was gonna forget some...
Wensil Woodsman? :)
yeah its on there
My favorite broadhead is the 125 firstcut cut-on-contact by eastman outfitters. Next would be the bear super razorhead ss these are great heads.
Snuffer,,But I have WW's also..Nice but not a big as my 160 snuffers,,JB
SNUFFER!!!
Hard to choose, all good choices which have brought down their share of game.
Hard to beat them 160 grain SNUFFERS!
The Snuffer's all I've used for ....oh.... twenty years??!!
Lobo in West Virginia
Any Simmons 1 9/16" or larger.
24th season with Snuffers comin up
Razorcaps! I voted for WWs since they are the closest in design. The Razorcaps seem kinda like a compromise between a WW and a Snuffer to me, and they fly great out of my bow.
160 Stos, best all around head. Flys true and quiet and absolutely has the best penetration.
zwickey why because i know that they cut real good. LOL!!!!
Jeff you do know that don't ya bro,, ;) Glad your doing great bud,,
i always liked razorbacks 165 grain of pure cutting power.........
2 blade Zwickey eskimo w/ long insert. 175 grains of pump station disabler.
I've always liked Bear Razorheads. When I swiched to wood arrows, I bought some Bear Green Heads off ****. They are already on my arrows waiting for October 1st.
I've always used 100 Gr Magnus 2 blades cause they are easy to sharpen and fly straight. Now I've since met some guys that told me that I should shoot a heavier head. So now today I put in an order for 145 Gr Grizzly heads and the 30 Gr inserts making the total of 175 Gr. The 175 field tips I've been shooting hit like a ton of bricks so I'm hoping for the best come this fall in the woods.
The Wensel brothers have had their last name spelled so many ways, it's hard to tell what is right anymore. Wensil, Wenzel, Wensell, Wenzill. Yikes. How about windsail.
Zwickey Eskimo - 123 grain - I have one broadhead that has killed 12 deer.
Mohawk Magnum I 4 blade, and Hunters Head. You did not list them on the poll, course, they are no longer made,LOL.
Danny
160grn Snuffers... Never let me down...
Well I can see from the poll a lot of you guys have never shot a Simmons. :bigsmyl:
there is no suffering with the snuffer
Grizzly.
wow, looking at the poll, I'm not suprised to see Magnus and Zwickey neck and neck, but the Woodsman way out front suprises me.
I wouldn't say way out there, it's only 2% more than th Zwickey and 5% more than the Magnus....
I voted Ace because it is what I've used for the last 2 years and chose them because I liked them over my previous favorites. Treeshark Simmons could be my favorite next year if James Wrenn is right!
Magnus STINGERS !!!!!!!! Bone busting and always sharp.
WW Woodsman, and Tree Sharks!!!!!!
I'm using the Zwicky's I've got a box full. I've only got 6-of the old Bear razorheads left...
I posted that my choice was Zwickey - 123 grain. I was going to change my typo but why?? I have filed those suckers so many times there is no way they weigh 125 grains.
My favorites...
2-blade: Ace Standards
4-blade: Zwickey Deltas
I use both Magnus 2 blade and Snuffers but I have some old Zwickeys. I switched to Magnus because of their return policy. I send several back each fall.
The way I see it the Zwickey and Magnus are the same thing. One is a little softer and has a better warranty but other than that the are identical. When you add the others on the list that are Zwickey copies too they are way out front. :)
I use Razorcaps and Phantoms almost interchangeably. I like my heads to be in the 200-225 ranges. My wife uses the 100 grain Phantom along with 100grain inserts.
grizzlies.
I don't change gear very often, been using green razorheads for thirty-five years and occasionally Zwickey Deltas or Snuffers for a little change of pace. All of'em will kill better than I can hunt and I'm really not too bad. Grant

160 gr snuffer w/125 gr adapter.....awesome!!!
zwickeys have killed more deer by laying around the woods and being stepped on than all the others combined
didn't see the Eclipse on there. after a recent hunt in Africa and seeing the business end work from this broad head i like it. they sharpen really easy and stay that way.
4-Blade Eclipse 155
2-Blade Eclipse 145 or Grizzly 145
Just about any two blade cut on contact head.
Steelforce are my favorite but Grizzlys, Magnus, Zwickys, bears etc. are all excellent broadheads.
-Sharps
I guess based on my past experience it would have to be a zwickey (eskimo or delta). This year I will be using a Stinger. I think I know what the stinger will do. I know I know what the zwickey will do.
Mason and I will be shooting three different heads since we are just starting to hunt with trad stuff. He will try a 125 Phantom 4 blade and Wensel Woodsman. I will try a Simmons Treeshark and a WW.
