This is my first post on tradgang! I grew up shooting recurve, but would like to switch to longbow.I like the slim lines and small grip, and im on a budget! I'm not very tall so I would like to keep it under 62. I would appreciate any and all sugestions.
My only advice is check out the used bows on this site. Lots of nice bows and you can save alot off of new price. What part of AR ?

Thunderhorn Coupstick. $450 with Actionwood riser and nice Red Elm Limbs. I don't know your budget but as far a new bows go it's hard to beat a Thunderhorn. Check: www.thunderhornmfg.com (http://www.thunderhornmfg.com)
Thanks,
Jake
There is a 60" Toelke whip in the classifieds section. Great shooting longbow in my opinion. I think he's asking 475
BTW, Pete Ward posted a link to his reviews of the Whip in the thread that has the bow for sale. Click on the link to see what he says about the bow if you haven't already.
you should have no problem getting a very nice starter bow between 200.00 to 300.00..may advice to you is start with a lower poundage bow..
Questions like yours are so hard to answer. There is rarely a bad bow made. The biggest trick is to find one that suits your shooting style. What I may really like and highly recommend may not be suited to your style, the shape and size of your hand, or you draw length.
The best advice is to find somewhere to shoot as many bows as you can. A trad only 3d shoot is an excellent place for trying bows. Of all the shoots I've gone to there were only a small few that wouldn't let me shoot thier bows.
