Title: arrow selection help
Post by: canadian on July 27, 2007, 09:48:00 PM
Hi all, my brother just recieved his first custom bow.  It's a Rose Oak Puma hunter, what a beauty.  Anyway he is trying to figure out what arrows to shoot.  The bow is 53#@28 and he draws 28".  He wants to shoot a 150 gr broadhead.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks, Jonathan

2018 would be another suggestion.  That's what I would shoot with that set up.  Good luck....Van

29.5" Heritage 150 with the standard insert and and 150 head would fly very well freom that bow, ya may have to play a tad with point weight but I doubt it! Shawn

2016 as already mentioned should be just fne!
Easton has changed spine measurement for alu-arrows so the 2016 now go by the name of 500!
Congrats on the nice bow!

Why would he want to shoot alumijnums, is it just me? They do not hold up to my stumping and such at all. Wood holds up better. Shawn

If he wanted to start out cheap and with carbons have him look up Sipsey Archery Supplies. You can get Gold Tip blems (hardly tell, if at all, on most) in the Traditional finish (looks like wood..kind of) for 39.95!  That's if he can cut, glue, and fletch them.

I believe in wood cut to 29"s ya would need 65-70 minimum. These bows are good perfromers so ya may even need a tad more spine. Shawn
