The first deer in the pics and the big bear rug are my father's. The fawn was hit by a car when I was in high school.
I'll be honest, not all were bow kills!
I don't have a "trophy room", per se. It's kind of spread out throughout the house.
Family room...
Whenever my grouse get back from the taxidermist, they've already got a home in the built-in I did earlier this year.

Second floor office...
My grandfather's old hunting bow. The hoofs on the bow rack are from the first deer I killed with that bow after he died, and the arrow is also from that deer.
Some other things: my hog skull, a ruffed grouse fan mount I did, some sheds and such.

That's really special right there Jason!!!
Jason,
Very cool pictures, especially your grandfathers bow. Thanks for sharing. Tim
Yup Jason I have seen that bow in TBM as well as the new issue and the Moose Antlers as well! Very nice memories right there. I do not do pics. but I have about 40+ sets of whitetail antlers on my living room wall. I will try and do a pic. Shawn
Jason, that bow is better than the biggest set of antlers in the world!!! You just can't buy memories like that..Don and Skyler
wow
wow
You got a good wife,, leting you have a room like that, :D good for you,,
ps,, i can still see plenty of space for manny years of hunting :D
I would show you pics if my trophyroom,, but i dont think you really want to see a completly empty room apart from a rabbits skin,, ( i rawhided my slef,) and a Phesants Tail Feather i mounted my self with some Bluetak, :D
There just my Personal Tropys to remmber my first and second Bow kill,,, and definatly not my last,,,
But i could show you my BowRack,, got some nice bows,, ( i never tell my mum how much these bows really cost, SilverTip, ect :)
James
WAY COOL guys. Keep it going...
Everyone else's mounts are awsome but Jason's Grandfather's bow is the coolest mount I have seen in a long time. Very special.
Brian
This is good. Timely too...I just got notice that my Africa trophies are being shipped over. That got my wife thinking about redecorating the living room. Yes, the living room. :readit: Thats the only room with a vaulted ceiling for HER 52" Kudu shoulder mount! :bigsmyl: My Gemsbok will be next to her Kudu, her two Impala will be euro'd and go on either side of the master bedroom wall, haven't decided on her bushbuck shoulder mount yet...my red hartebeest euro will most likely go in my home office, and my blue wildebeest euro goes in my work office for all the nut-crunchers to chatter about. That leaves the hartebeest rug and the wildebeest rug to find spots for. It'll be a few months before all that is done at the taxidermy but I'll post the pictures when it's done!
Man, them Old Wart Hogs are U-G-L-Y Suckers!! :scared: Reminds me of an EX Mother-In-Law........... :scared: Love the Stockings on the Moose Headgear!! CLASSIC!!
I was also Drooling over that-there NICE Lookin' Camera! Dear Santa......... :archer:
Not a lot of trophy animals to show but I do have a room and some bows:

There is one shoulder mount coming and it should be here next fall.
I was running out of room in the house so Katia suggested we build on last year...well a couple of good buddies (Bret "Jethro" Cagle and Leonard Settlemyer) myself and a bunch of sweat equity allowed me to end up with a Cadillac trophy room on a Ford budget. All I hired out was the concrete work and a crew of Amish to put the roof on, we did the rest ourselves from stacking the logs, setting the trusses, framing what needed framed, wiring and finishing. Took a summer of weekends, but we are pleased with it. The trophy room is 22X20 with a 22X6 tack room for my wifes horse stuff on the end and a 22X6 loft with a walkout porch for her home office. Ended up with a nice closet for hunting clothes etc as well....here's a few pics (note that I built it big enough to add a few more animals as the opportunity arises!) Ryan
Entryway from original house:
Southwest corner:
This is going to need rearranging later as the full mount muskox from this fall will go here.
West wall with exterior double doors to get big animals in:
This is the north wall (with entry from original house):
This guy is waiting in the tack room for a buddy to show up to help me hang him on the north wall near the buffalo.
East wall:
Back to the south wall, with stairs to wife's office:
View of the room from the stairs. Interesting story on the antler lights...Dad made them for me with sheds from the farm in Iowa. The lamps are mirror images of each other...all right sheds on one, all left on the other...from the same deer.
Here's my little closet. The arrows are kill arrows, I have most of my kill arrows with date/animal written on them, nice memories.
Lots of work, but we couldn't be more pleased with the results (not bad for a bunch of weekend warriors!)
Ryan
That's not a 'trophy room' that's a 'trophy house'! Wow!!
These are very nice "Trophy Rooms"
Nice room addition, Ryan! I love your handrails on the stairs...neat idea. You got to get that moose up...I just re-read the story in my PBS newsletter about the hunt, a goodun'.
Bjorn....love all those bows!
Jason, I too love the "grandpa's bow" display!
I had to check and see if I still had pics of my room in my photobucket....I do! They are a couple years old, though, and I've added a few more "memories", but you get the jist! All longbow and selfbow trophies only!

I also had to add-on this room to my house, so my wife lets me decorate this one area.
Ryan I like the look of the new addition. Looks good man. Are you still planning on returning for another whitetail hunt?
Great thread, great photos.
Instead of watching the news in the morning, I should just look at these pictures, my mood would be better.
Looks great now, Ryan. I may have to come over during C'dale and see the finished product.
Mark, what the heck is that white oval thing on the wall behind your chair? :D
Outstanding photos. Very inspiring!
We have 14,000+ Trad Gangers. Let's keep this thread alive...
Maddog
I'll be pulling in to Carol's on Xmas day, PM, hunting until the following sunday. JD told me about that stand you guys put up by the pole barn. I told him to put an angry turtle sign on it to keep his brothers away....temptation got the best of him tho....something about busting a couple does there already. That's ok, Rob has a stand with my name on it (and I won't rub it in too bad if I kill a buck bigger than his!)
Less work, more weekends
later dude
R
Sounds like a good time.
Here is mine. Can you tell I am a Whitetail nut?

Awesome pics fellows. Lots of ideas for my next house.
Mark
Ryan looks like that arrow-kill collection has a bunch of Snuffers on 'em! Imagine that!!! Would you say the majority if not all those critters you got were all snuffed out.Nice collection of memories you got there.Take care, Paul
Rick, having all those trophies and arrows looks really good. And the Maple Sight Windows don't hurt either! LOL!
I'm still working on that!
I clearly do not hunt enough....or maybe I don't shoot enough stuff!
Ryan, the room addition looks fantastic!
I just love your room droptine-----somebody put an ugly Packers flag in there! I just wanted to point that out so you could rectify the situation. :smileystooges:
Amazing guys!
Here is my very modest work in progress. Pales in comparison to many here but it's my home away from home.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=g7dsfLd_b0E
I just joined this forum about ten minutes ago. I am very impressed by the few posts I have read so I wanted to show you guys my trophy corner. I look forward to learning about trad bows. I need to learn how to post the image now.OOPS.
man, Bjorn-you don't have a game room, you have a bow room! My local pro shop doesn't have that many trad bows!!
having only a lowly stuffed teal, It'll be awhile before I have any bragging rights, but it's a-comin!
Rich, I really like your place. The WT rack on the top post, THICK! All those bucks come from MD? We just got 27" of snow here and 5 foot on the mountain across the street. Late deer starts the 14th. I hope to jump some cat tracks this weekend. A big cat would look good sitting with those bucks. All those rooms look great!
Dug up some old pics and also took a couple new ones of my relatively new trophy room/den/office. When I got married, it was imperative to go ahead an add on to my house as I'd always wanted to do. Can't remember the exact dimensions off the top of my head, but maybe 16x31'. I made it a little narrower than I wanted due to wanting to save some trees outside. One piece of advice if anyone ever goes this direction, is to make it as big as you can. I already wish mine were larger. The room is a step-down through French doors and is divided by a partial wall into trophy room and office portions.
On two walls are African game from two traditional-only safaris in '94/'99.

This picture is taken looking back toward the office portion. Note the display case with a small portion of the many old shotgun shell boxes I've collected over the years. I also have dozens of the old wood ammo crates.
More pics, next post.
North American game is on other two walls of main room. It should be noted that I mounted a number of deer in my early years that I now wish I'd done European style. But I never figured I'd kill bigger deer with a bow (ha). However, each animal here represents memories and challenges, as do a number of larger deer antlers still in storage.
This is a photo from the office portion of the room.

One more post to follow.
OK Bryce, now you dun it... There should be a story that corresponds with each one of those that you could send to Jack for the PBS magazine... You are going to get some serious writer's cramps. Thanks in advance.
I'm sure some feel this is excessive or showy, but it is my retreat from this working world we must all toil in. It's my way of bringing the outdoors home 365 days a year. I just have a hard time keeping it uncluttered during hunting season!
The west wall currently looks as follows:
The north wall is pictured here.

Remarkable!!!
WOW!
"my retreat from this working world we must all toil in."
Amen to that! Thanks for sharing. Beautiful.
Nice...Bryce!

Sweet,That bow of your grandfather's is beautiful.Nice rooms/houses.
Simply amazing! This is hopefully the start of my collection. This is my first trad deer that I got this fall during my first season with the recurve. The second pic are my other compound bucks.

What a great thread...thanks for sharing everyone.
ozy,
I really admire your tahr and chamois..those are tough critters to get fair chase with a bow of any kind.
Bantang, Ozzie.
yip Banteng, guy called Ricardo longoria has just shot the No:1 with a bow.
America - Freedom - What great stuff. - Hard Head -
ray, i better tell you that the tahr & chamios were taken with a rifle. before i "saw the light". but before i die i'm going to hunt them both again with a trad bow.
I want to hunt NZ so bad.
I must have deleted my other "bowroom" pics from the photobucket.. these are all I can find..
