Got my new Mississsippi Lake Longbow from my good friend and bowyer, Jim Godden.
Well, Jim outdid himself on this baby.
62", 51.5#'s @26".
Maple core, osage lams, Zebrawood/Highly figured mixed grain cocobolo riser with osage/maple accent stripes.
Zebrawood and black phenolic tips.
Padded loop 8125 string.
This puppy spits out heavy tapered ash shafts super quick and even without silencers yet, it is very quiet.
thanks Jim for a sweet shooter. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v611/ashstyk/IMGP1248.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v611/ashstyk/IMGP1253.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v611/ashstyk/IMGP1247.jpg)

Hey Big dog,
She is a beauty!! Very similar to Harmony...May your Guardians guide you with this new bow on many successful hunts!!
:wavey: She has a pretty name and I would expect that she is filled with a peaceful, loyal spirit. Best Wishes on your new joy. Let her build the confidence within you.

Where'd the beard go???
Good looking D bow. Good looking hound too. A little fat though.
G
Man, I love to see a bow shot without silencers!
Luke,
It is gone for a bit..will grow it back come Sept. Getting real sick of all the " OMG, you look like you lost 15 years!" comments...
Geno,
she ain't fat, she's just big-boned! the pic angle looked bad, she is actually quite trim, muscular through the neck and shoulders. ;) :smileystooges:
Real nice, Cary. Good luck with her.
Tim
Very very nice, "sweet pea" looks like a real shooter!
I like it. Do you have a contact for the bowyer. I like that beagle too. Mike
Mike,
pm me for the info.
BD( ps. the beagle is not for sale though... ;) )
wow ! lucky bugger a real bute that!
Initial observations:
The 8125 padded loop string is real nice, I had to beef the serving up a bit, my bohning nocks would slide all around on it. Maybe Jim could double serve that area in the future?
The grip is a bit fuller than Harmony( my 1st bow from Jim), but it is shaped to put all of the pressure on the lifeline area of my hand; right where it should be.It is a very comfortable grip and I am adjusting nicely to it.
The finish is amazing, Jim did an article on brush finishing bows with T-bird in the latest Bowyer's journal; the proof is in the pudding.
It is well balanced and being 2" shorter than Harmony, it throws the tapered ash as hard, depite being about 4.5 pounds lighter at my draw.
All in all, this bow is heading for the top of the heap in my growing stable, I am going moose hunting in late Sept. This bow will be coming along as well as her heavier older sister.
thanks Jim for a real gem.
 :archer: :clapper:
