What can I get from Home Depot to thin Fletch-lac in both clear and white. I think it is xlene or M.E.K. Thank you.
I tried a bunch of stuff a few months ago....no luck. I ended up ordering thinner from 3R.
I have used laquer thinner for years ........ has always worked fine !!!!
Fletch-lac paints are a vinyl laquer base product. While you might be able to thin with regular laquer thinner any clean up would be iffy. Those other products like acetone will contaminate the fletch-lac. For the prices we pay for the fletch-lac paint I would not take chances with other than fletch-lac thinner.
I believe that fletch lac is a chem chromic base and can be thinned with M.E.K. Maybe some painters or arrow makers can help. I do not want to make a special order to 3rivers.
I have used xylene with great results. In a pinch another thing that works is a product named "Goof Off" for removing latex paint splatter from wood work, etc. It is mostly xylene and can be had in smaller quantities than the gallon that is sold at Homers. I have a gallon and I think it will be a lifetime supply.
