I have been thinking of getting a new bow and have looked at several diffrent makes and models. To be very honest I have been very impressed with the results that I read on hear about Mark and Sandy. I have known several folks that swear by their longbows but I am wanting to know if anyone has ever shot the "Take down Ridge Runner" and if so what did you think of this bow? I would really like to know before I sink this kind of money in a bow. I have a Black Widow that I am persently using and I tend to use that as my measuring stick for other bows. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I visited Mark and Sandy's shop in february while I was on vacation. While I was there I was able to shoot alot of bows. I deceided to order a Traditionalist longbow. After deceiding on a longbow, Mark pulled out a takedown Ridgerunner. I was very impressed. The bow was 60" 48#@28". It really smoked an arrow. And had absolutely no hand shock. It also shot exactly where I was looking. I also currently shoot a Black Widow recurve. I almost changed my mind and went with the Rigerunner instead of the Traditionalist. But since I didn't own a longbow I deceided to go with the Traditionalist. I will probably own a Ridgerunner soon though. I also compare every recurve to my Black Widow and the Ridgerunner will shoot right with a Black Widow. You can't go wrong with a bow from Horne's. Great bows, but even better people!!!

I shot one at the Chester shoot two years ago and it was one of the best shooting recurves I've shot. It was a 62", 55# @ 28" T/D Ridge Runner.
You won't be disappointed.
I'm keeping my eyes out for one myself. :D

The TD Ridge Runner is a fabulous bow with meticulous workmanship and great performance. In addition, their grip is one of my favorites...really comfortable and torque-free. I think the TD Ridge Runner is a dandy!

Pinecone I went you an email with some questions.
I have a 60" 59#@28". If ya got sumpin that needs an arrow in it way down deep and on the first shot, ya can't do any better than the ridge runner take down. the rise is very stable with good physical weight. the limbs have great torsional stablity with very good speed. among the fastest IMO.

the limbs are yew veneer with tokin cane core.
riser is yew and cocabola. very handsome bow if that kinda thing makes a difference to ya.
I have two other Horne bows a Traditionalist and a 58" bowbolt take down recurve, 55#@28".
There are a lot of good bows out there but none any better than Marks bows.
It was this very bow that got me switched over to shooting Horne. I'm not a curve guy but was shooting this bow lights out from the first shot to the last. I couldn't seem to miss with the bow. And, talk about smoooooth! Go for it! You'll love the choice! CK
CJ, you won't find finer folks to deal with than Mark and Sandy. Just so happens, they make superb bows too. Mark has a 100% satisfaction policy on all his in stock bows...there are several takedowns on the website now, I suggest you call him to discuss trying one out. But be prepared not to send it back! :saywhat:
They are first class in every aspect. If you have any questions they will answer them. Bows are great. Been shooting the same traditinalist for almost two years now...
Thanks gang
Love mine. Fast, smooth, quiet and beautiful! Shoots dead nuts on the money. Great bows and Mark is as fine of a gentleman as I have ever had the pleasure of meeting or doing business with. Give him a call he will give you his honest opinion on everything from bows and bowhunting, arrow flight and anything else you can think of without any sort of pressure whatsoever to sell you a bow(just a super cool cat). I especially like to here his huntin stories!!
