Last night right at dusks the family was sitting aroud talking when suddenly my 4 year out daughter went to the windo and said very causually, "There's a moose out there."
Now when my four year old says there is something outside you can not take it at face value as I know the elephants and hippos to not frequent the area I live in Utah and she is known to have spotted them all.
I quick confirmation from my son and there was indeed a large bull moose hanging out feeding.
The light was fadding and too dark to get pictures so we watched him feed off.
This morning as I was sleeping I heard the sound of a breaking twig and sat upright in bed just in time to see out visitor bedding down outside the window.
I apologize for the picture quality.

Very shotly my son came to my room and we went upstairs.

He got out the range finder and marked him at 17 yards. This according to him is well within his range. ;0

As I am posting this we are watching him just sit there and chew his cud.
If he stands up I will try to get some more pics.

All this looking made him hungry.

He started stripping the leaves off small aspens.

Daggnabbit! I don't know if it's because I am looging on from the library or if it is just a continuation of my current bad luck but I can't see the pics. BUT you are indeed blessed to see such things out your back window.
