Only because I can't believe it turned out like this. This blade came from a big arab like sword. had some etching on the blade and you can still see some of it. Elk antler and bocote handle. Never made a handle like this before and to my surprise it worked out. I traced a kershaw folder OPENED of course for the design of the knife. I kinda like it so I think I may make another one. So what ya think? (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v83/fishrofmen1/DSCN2704.jpg)

I believe that it needs to be field tested. Send it to me,and I'll use it,(and abuse it LOL) then I'll send it back to you in about 5 years or so,and let you know what I HONESTLY think!!!!!

Another very nice knife from a nice guy!!!
Frank, I have a Kershaw folder like that, and an unusually nice handling knife. The fact that you made a sheath knife like that...should be a great knife by any measure. And your workmanship is very nice too! NICE KNIFE!
Dan

Another awesome knife Frank!!!
Frank, that second one is out of this world sweet. The file work is very well done!!
Beautiful work.
Frank,
Awesome knives. Excellent attention to the detail. I have some questions. You cut the blades out of an old eastern sword. Is it possible you have wootz steel there? Wootz has a very fine damacus like grain to the steel but instead of layers wootz is shot through with the high carbon steel veins. Second question, what did you use to cut your blade out of the sword. I have a few endopersian blades and some scrap kriss knives that I think would make some excellent hunting knives. I am afraid to use to much heat to cut out blanks for fear of harming the temper. Did you retemper the blade?
thanks for the info
Brian
Brian yes I tempered the blade. I use a air grinder witha cutoff wheel and go very slow and dip in water often so not to over heat the metal. Thanks for the nice words everyone.<><
Outstanding Frank!
Frank, the blades are gorgeous but you'ze Ugly....LOL LOL
Ya know what I mean don't you ( Inside Joke )

Don't thank us Frank, you are the one to be thanked Sir :)
Daniel
Man, I used to have a couple of Indopersian Talwars that had steel like that. Good stuff. One of the swords I had was over 250 years old and was still sharp enough to cut ya' if you weren't careful.
Too cool, Frank. Great looking knives.
Chris
Chris I am sure these are not that fancy steel. If they were please don't tell Shell LOL! Thanks Daniel<><
Very nice work Frank!
Has Shell claimed the one she's keeping yet? :D
No Jeremey not that one but I just told her about the one you want. And guess what? She wants that knife. But I laid down the LAW  ! Told her I was sending it to you and that was that
