How many take a spare bow on a long trip?It's quite a task unless your spare shoots the same arrows.Is it foolish not to take one?I usually take spare string and tools and any think might get me out of a bind.Taking an extra bow on a drop camp with weight limits can be an issue.what do you think?

I usually take 2 or 3 bows on a hunting trip
I'm takin two to Montana in a month to hunt pronghorns. Fiberglass recurve and an osage selfbow. 10 or so arrows for each , mailing them to my buddy a week ahead of time so weight isn't an issue I guess. Gonna hunt with wood one day and fg the next.
It only takes one moment of carelessness, too close to a fire, too near a horse hoof and you have a smashed tip and NO bow at all. I'd take a spare.
I always take an extra bow on a longer/out-of-state trip, usually a takedown. I also make sure that both bows shoot the same arrows.
I always take a backup bow whenever I go far from home. As a matter of convienence, I tune my main bow and backup to shoot the same arrows the same speed and same point-on distance. It makes any possible last minute transition between the two very easy.
I always pack two or three for a hunting trip. Shoot, I'm taking three with me to MOJAM plus six more to work on while I'm there. I hoping to get some expert advice while there.

I got a lot of work to do.I put a post on the damon hoyatt I think its going to shoot the same arrows.Thats a place to start.My spare long bow is just to light for caribou.
I always take 2 or 3 bows with me on an extended hunting trip. I am very blessed as I can switch from my Longbow to my recurve and have no problems adjusting.
Hill Boy, I am taking 1 bow with extra limbs. I guess if the riser breaks then its cut a spear and start chunkin..Just kidding.
if you can't put it together in time, Hillboy...someone in camp will have something for you to use if you "get a flat"

Amen, two on hunting trips. I had a new bow blow up on me on a trip to my lease three years ago and did not have a spare. Never again. I am taking my Blacktail and Silver Fox on my Bou hunt. They both like the same arrows.
How light of weight is your spare bow. It does not take a lot of weight to kill caribou, in arrow or bow! Shawn
How hard is it to carry an extra 3-4 arrows for the back up bow? Ya only need them in case! Shawn
Shawn, this is a 42lb morrison dakota.I do have heavy arrows , I think I had them at about 530gr I had a hard time getting carbons to fly and ended up with 250gr up front.I shoot a magnus 2 blade out of it and already have an extra string I just kind of laid it down after getting my new recurve 1 1/2 yr ago.but have harvested a deer with it.I would also have to transport it in a hard case.

Definitely. I've had a limb tip sheer off. Two sets of limbs, two risers. Ray is right though-there are always plenty of bows in camp! :)
