Title: Small bow patch / cosmetic wrap on bow
Post by: John Krause on July 17, 2007, 01:28:00 PM
I have an older longbow that has a small blemish on the upper limb, belly side. I superglued it years ago and have shot it over the years with no ill effects. I am not scared of it letting go but want to do something to cover it and maybe add some structural assistance. Then do another matching type one on the bottom limb.

I am thinking something like Tite Bond 2 on the limb and do a sinew or cord type wrap. Brown glass on both sides.

Good idea or is there something better i could do?

Thanks

JKmo-IL..they make colored Kevlar thread for wrapping fly rods..probably get it at Bass Pro. You can do multiple colored stripes top and bottom for a
real cool look. Seal with shellac or clear glue.Look at the second bow from the left in this pic

Mickey,

That's sounds better than what I was thinking. How do you start and end the wrap?
