Hi My name is Jim Brown. I am down here in South East Tennessee. I am fairly new to archery and very new to traditional archery.I have recently inherited a couple of bows, from a freind, and I am wondering about them,How old aer they ,what they are worth, are they good quality bows, and such as that.
They are both Ben Pearsons one is marked cougar 7050 and on the side it says amo-62" 45#-28" there is also a number 47524-204. The other is a small bow . It is marked BP-h52 and 7329. on it's side it says ao-13393 52" and (?)x40#28". Anything you guys can tell me would be appreciated.
Welcome....
Ben Pearsons Old bows are great bows....
I have one myself....
Ditto on the Pearsons being good bows. prices gave not risen like the older Bears, etc., so they can be had fairly reasonably. The markings on the first bow indicate a 62" bow measured around the curves on the back side, and a 58" string would be appropriate, Dacron only. The second bow would appear to be a 52" bow, measured the same way. The weight (xx40#@28") would indicate a 38# bow, measured at 28" draw.
If you are interested in values, check the auction site for completed listings for those bows. That will give you some idea.
My advice would be to just enjoy them for what they are, fun shooting older bows from days gone by.
Thanks Scattershot.
I was realy curious about the numbers.
I just got in from playing with them.
They are fun to shoot.
Hey Jim don't know much about the Pearson bows but just wanted to say Welcome aboard :wavey:
