Title: Could i get some advice?
Post by: Fresno Field Archer on July 09, 2007, 12:10:00 AM
I have decided to order a custom bow from Marriah Bows, a take-down recurve called Thermal. My first question is that i was wondering if anyone had any information or personal reviews on their bows? I was also wondering if anyone could help me choose a wood for the limbs. I don't have any experience with bow woods but im looking for a powerful, fast, smooth drawing bow. If it matters my draw weight is 55 pounds and my draw length is 31 in.

My Thermal had Yew limbs, and I liked it a lot. I switched to longbows, or I would still have it. Ask Ric what he thinks is best. Bamboo is always good.

Whatever Ric puts in it it will be a shooter.Elm black walnut yew and actionboo are allways good choices.

Thanks you guys have been a great help. Do you know how long the usual wait is for him to make the bow.

I would like to ask, what length bow you are interested in.

I am sure Rick knows his business but you need to try a long recurve at your draw.

I don't remember how long I waited, and only Ric knows how busy he is. He will tell you the estimated wait time. I know several bowyers that prefer actionboo.
