Title: Hard shell bow case
Post by: restless on July 07, 2007, 04:50:00 PM
anyone know who makes a good airline approved hard case? It needs to be at least 37" to handle a take down longbow and a 3 piece recurve plus arrows

I've seen some nice cases made from shotgun cases

Look at SKB. I have one that I carry my recurve in.

ever think about a hard golf bag?  Pack your bow arrows and kit in one and the airlines are pretty good at getting them places.  some airlines do not even charge for them-hard to believe in these days.  Make it look rough on the outside to discourage thieves....

I have an ADG sports hard case 36x12x5 outside dimensions that is advertised as airline safe.  The material is a type of plastic, not aluminum.  They also make larger ones.  Looks pretty substantial, but I haven't given it the airline test yet.  In fact, I've decided to sell it and buy a soft case which I plan to pack inside my backpack when I fly.
