Title: Adding quiver inserts to my Bow
Post by: brackshooter on July 03, 2007, 02:46:00 PM
Wanted to get a few opinions on this.  Thinking about adding some quiver inserts to my Rose Oak King Panther(!), because I cant seem to find a quiver I like for the bow.  This is my first one piece, have always used the selway limb bolt quiver in the past.  Was wondering also who uses the bear bolt on quiver, and if they like it.  Just like the idea of a more solid quiver attached to my bow.

I know it doesn't look great but I prefer a Kwikee since I can detach it quickly and lay it down in the blind, hang it in a tree, or attach it to my Sidewinder hip bracket.  I don't have any of my current bows drilled for it but I am considering it myself.  I also am playing with one of those AMS gadget adapters and a Kwikee bracket.  If I can get it strapped on in a manner I like, I can put it on any of my bows and won't have to drill a riser.

You can drill and tap your riser and throw on a Kwikee Quiver. 3 Rivers sells the bushings...this way you can remove the quiver once your in stand then put it back on when leaving.

I added quiver bushings to a Martin Mamba that I owned at one time. 3 Rivers sells the bushings. Just take your time and it's not that big of a deal. A drill press comes in handy to obtain uniform holes and a good flush intstall of the bushing.

Drilled-in bowquiver mounts are not quote totally obsolete, though perhaps they should be. Why permantently physically alter your bow when there are excellent strap-on quivers out there? I had a Selway long ago, but long ago decided I don't care for the slip-on mounts, since you have to unbrace and unstring to take them on or off. The industry standard for several years has been the Great Northern; I'm sure you can google them. State of the art today, my opinion, is Thunderhorn. Both use rubber mounts that take seconds, even in full dark, to strap on firmly or remove, making it easy to take your quiver off while on stand if you prever shooting without one. To me, the extra weight adds stability to our ultra-light trad bows. Check out the Thunderhorn website, great people, great product. Dave

Just a personal thing, but I don't like strap on quivers. I get inserts in all of my bows.

Brack... I really like the bolt on quivers and have used the Bear quiver a lot (Delta is same).
A nice solid quiver.

I also like the Thunderhorn quiver in bolt on.

Never did like the idea of taking the quiver off on stand. Sooner or later you gotta shoot one way or the other and seems to me the switch from quivered to quiverless messes up the feel of the bow.

I put bushing in  my bows also. Drill the hole right...put  a little expoxy on the bushing being careful not to get any on the inside where the threads are and let un dry.

I like my bear quivers but they are heavy but SOLID.
