Haven't stopped in for awhile so I thought I would let folks know where I'm at.
You may recall that I had to severely cut back my Trad shooting due to pain in my drawing hand. I didn't mention what I figured was Tendonitis in my drawing arm, as that has been pretty much an every day thing since January.
Both got so bad that I couldn't even shoot a compound with release, so I finally bit the bullet and saw a doctor.
The problem in the hand is a tendon that locks up in one finger. He referred me to an Orthopedic Specialist with an appointment in early August. The doctor anticipates corrective surgery. He is quite concerned with this problem and says it is the more serious of the two issues.
He diagnosed severe Tendonitis in the arm, and I'm doing physical therapy twice weekly on it. It's anticipated that this will heal up in due time.
I'm going to postpone any potential surgery on my hand until after hunting seasons, which means early 2008. If I get the arm healed up I can still hunt with compound this year, and I'll have all winter to get the finger squared away so I can draw my recurves again.
Bottom line, I hope to be back shooting Trad next Spring...
Just curious, What draw weight were you shooting before?????
Get Well Soon My Friend!!!!!

Do You Have GOOD Insurance?? Man, thats a Lot of Specialists, and None of Those Kinda' Doctors are exactly "Cheap". I am Very Sorry to Hear of Your Health Issues, but have Faith in God and Medicine, they can do some Astonishing Stuff Nowadays!!
Get Well Soon Buddy!! :goldtooth:
50-55 lbs Woodchucker. Not a big deal at all. I rather suspect it's just a touch of age & shooting bow for 45 years catching up with me...
Thanks Xia & Shakes, going to do the best I can...

Hmmm...do you have Dupuytren's Contracture?? If so, there are non-'surgical' options now.
Good luck! Hap
Jon,
I know the tendonitis thing very well....it took awhile but after therapy and withholding gripping/pulling activities (yeah right), it's much, much better now. Hope your surgery goes smooth and you heal fast. :)
Thanks Shell.
I'll know more in August, Smac. It would sure be nice to get that doggone thing working w/o surgery...
