having some problems with the nocks breaking upon impact on my trad lites. I understand that you can use an easton uni bushing and the "G" nocks. Can anyone tell me what size uni bushing and what size "G" nock? Or is there a better way?
Very true! i shot the aluminun nock adapters with 1/4" glue on nocks. The standard nock are just not that good in my opinion.
I use easton uni bushings and "G" nocks with my Trads. Makes a world of difference. The unibushings need to be milled/ground slightly narrower, or the nock end of the arrow needs to be cut a bit (which is going to stiffen you spine) for a perfect fit.
But as far as I'm concerned, it's definitely worth it.
You also might want to PM Rob Taylor, a member here, because he's the one who I got the bushings that were narrowed from.
I also use the 1/4 Bohning classics with the adaptor furnished with the AD's
Here is my problem. Of the two orders I have made for the AD's neither included any adapters. All I recvd were the standard press in whit nocks. I am not crazy about glue on nocks so I am very interested in the uni bushings and press in g nocks. What size uni bushing do I need to order? and what size g nock? So many sizes I am not sure which is the correct one.
On my AD's I installed the nock bushing adapter and if you cut it on the groove closest to the shaft it will then take a G-nock.That is what it says in Lancaster Archery Supply catalog, that is exactly what I did.I used the G-nocks with the large throat .098,perfect fit for my string.
Brack Shooter 32, G-nock is the way to go with the AD's. Size of G-nock depends on the size of your string, but the large [.098] is very close to the size of the glue on nocks so I think that is what most people use. What size uni bushing?? Good question. Easton makes about a million sizes and I would like to know which one fits the AD's too.
The AD nock adapters would not fit the last two dozen Nitro Stinger Lights (Yellow), they were to large and split six of the shafts. I have emailed Arrow Dynamics three time during the month of June and have not had a reply.
Anybody know the answer to which adapter and G nock to use? I don't understand JRY309's description of cutting the adapter, because I don't know which adapter is bing discussed.
roknjs,
The reccommended Uni-bushing size is the A/C-28 and the G-Nock is the 12-2 or 12-1.
I ordered the Uni-Bushings, and they did not work for me as they were just too small. The fit inside the shaft was not even close. I ordered the AD adapters and they work great. Just my opinion, but if you go with G-nocks, you should use the AD adapters. Order direct from AD...a sponsor here, and Gary will cut them for you.
Wow i was going to order those i didnt know thier was such a problem ,thanks guys
The main problem I have experienced is that the quality control of the shafts has varied greatly in the cutting of the rear from the factory. That is to say that they seem to be cut to very slightly different lengths, which produces a different sized hole in the rear of the shaft, by virtue of the taper. I understand that the newer production lots are much more consistent, and in fact I have three dozen in the shop awaiting my attention.
As for the G nock adapters, I originally used the AD adapters cut in the bottom groove. The problem with them is that they don't have much of a parallel internal shoulder to really hold the G nock shaft straight. It is for that reason that I took some -28 ACC adapters and turned them ever so slightly smaller (really just shaved off the little glue rings) in my mini lathe.
That said, I will probably try the AD adapters again just to save time.....maybe when I get a little time to set up my lathe in the new shop...I'll turn out a bunch of the -28's and have em in "back stock".
I do know this...cutting the rear of the shaft even a tiny little bit has a DRAMATIC effect on the dynamic spine (stiffening, of course).

The nock adapters accept a 9/32 glue on nock. Or you cut off the tip of the adapter and use a standard "G" nock
