I'm looking for trad shoots here in AK this summer. Also, are there any in the winter? I know about the Black Sheep Bowmen out at Elmendorf, but are there any others??
ronnie the 2 other clubs here in alaska dont have shoots in the summer because of attendance to many other things to do.yes they do shoot all winter the two clubs are cook inlet archers, traditional archers of alaska both have web sites.
Thanks Michael, I've bookmarked the pages and look forward to the shoots!! While I've got your attention, are there any trad shops around??
Ronnie,
The only trad shops are the one's online. Bill at Backcountry Archery(Anchorage) has "trad nights" on Tuesday nights, but I'm not sure he has enough people in the Summer?? You may also check Northwest Archers out at Kincaid park also. If you want to shoot at Kincaid we go out at least once a week and the "course" is very nice. Good Luck...Mark
can also try Brian Stewart at straight flight arrow company. Or ALaska Bowhunting Supply run by Ed Schleif.
I'm up in Fairbanks. We have Great North Archery Assoc, and the group on Eielson AFB.
Down in sitka running a charter boat for the summer right now though.
GNAA Shoots all summer long, though I dont have contact numbers here, look up Bill Payton, Lamar Wood, or Dennis from Dennis taxidery and they can get you the info you need. If you cant find them let me know and I'll try and get you in touch with someone. Last I heard they shot twice a week at 3ds.
