Post by: kirkwhitehead on June 28, 2007, 02:14:00 PM
what lenght feather are you guys shooting on your alum or carbon arrows? thought I heard that 5 to 5.5" was not needed to stabilize the carbons,is that true?

Depends on your broadhead size. I have some with three inch feathers(carbons) that are bullets with fieldtips. Don't think I'd shoot the STOS on them though.

Arrow tuning plays the biggest role when talking about going to 4.5's or 4's.

I bareshaft all my arrows whether aluminum, carbon, or wood.  I still shoot 5.5" shield cuts on all my arrows.  I dont care if the arrow flies a little bit slower.  It just makes a stable arrow.

With my Carbons I shoot 4-4" banana cut feathers.
