I was begging rides around the state today and wondering how I was getting home (long story - not worth going into) but when I finally did get home there wasn't just one, but THREE packages waiting for me!
The largest was a 2pc Horne Brush Bow, 62", 53# @28". Purpleheart riser and overlays, goncalo alves palm swell and veneers over a maple core. Shoots like a dream with the craftsmanship I've come to expect with Mark's bows (I have a 3pc combo hunter as well with the same grip). He chose a light piece of goncalo alves for the handle for some contrast and the veneers are perfect camo with the medium tones fading to dark throughout the limb.
The second package was from our very own Squirrel Bait who was kind enough to send me a Niff-T-seat - probably the most versatile hunting seat I've ever used!! I tell ya, TradGang has the BEST folks hanging around here!! Thank you Mike!!
The last package had a new Japanese handsaw and a few interesting kitchen knives that'll cut ya if you look at 'em wrong! :scared:

Looks to me like you have a girl to bring to the party when you make it up here Jeremy.
Since I have your attention, this is why I haven't been making much of anything the last few months:

I've been building a new workshop in my "free" nights and weekends. 20' x 24', with an 8'x8' room sectioned off for my archery stuff. I'm losing my office b/c we needed a nursery. Went CRAZY with the African mural in baby's room!!
Very cool Jeremy! Thanks for taking out, time for the knife.
Well now maybe you can make a decent knife!LOL. Just messing with ya. That is a great shop ya got there buddy.<><
Thanks Frank. It's not finished, but it's *functional* Most of the tools were moved in on Saturday and there's sawdust on the floor!
Dave, I have a few girls that'll make that trip with me. It was nice talking with you last week!
That looks like a great place for me to stay Jeremy, 8'x8' is plenty big enough for me, and I promise I won't touch your archery stuff! :bigsmyl:
By the way, nice looking bow too.
David
I wanna hear more about you getting home
Great lookin stuff Jeremy!! Keep watchin your mail box!!
What's the brace height on the Horne? Looks high, but could be the photo angle. Steve
Nice bow,,Your neighbors should be fearfull with those Kitchen Knives,,LOL,,
David, you're welcome anytime buddy, but I think we can do better than an 8x8 room.
SOS, the bow is braced at 7-1/2", right where Mark said it liked to be.
4runr, I'll keep a look out :)
I took the time to get to know her a little better after signing off last night. She really is a sweet shooter! I was fortunate enough to shoot and hunt with 'Hope' a few times last year (she kept showing up where I was going) and decided that I really needed one of Mark's bows! I'm not disappointed!! I still need to do the final set up (right now she just has two pieces of masking tape for silencers) and make sure the broadheads are flying true, but I think I need to get in some hunting on Saturday!
Hmmm, coyote and woodchuck are open statewide... or I could go after one of the yearling bucks I've been seeing. Tough call ;)
Dang!!!!!! Hope I get half as cool stuff when I get home.....Probably some custom made bills just me as always.......
Sweet knives!!!!!!
Jake
Beautiful Bow!!! I own a Traditionalist from Horne's, and really want a Brushbow. All of Mark's bows are shooters!! What arrows are you shooting out of the Brushbow?
Bill
SAWEET Brushbow Jeremy.Man oh man looks like you had X-mas in June!!She shoots pretty good does she? Great lookin workshop too that things bigger than my first house. Enjoy!
Nice little grab bag buddy! I know how you feel with the "get ready for baby" stage.....kinda awesome though isnt it? Good luck with the new bow.
Yeah Jamie, we're getting down the wire out here! :scared: It's gonna get real interesting in 4 weeks!
Bill, I'm shooting 65-70 ash out of her, 30.5" BOP with a 29.5" draw. Though looking at where the broadheads are hitting compared to fieldpoints I'll need to go up in spine.
I had to take a load of construction waste and demo to the dump this morning, so no hunting today. I wasn't satisfied with how the broadheads were flying anyway.
nice!
You never know when those babies will show up, with my daughter i thought i had her room finished two weeks ahead of schedule. I finished putting the crib together she was born the very next day. I was glad that i didn't procrastinate. Be ready Jeremy.
I took some time and got my brushow all dressed up! A bow doesn't *feel* like a bow to me w/o a leather wrap. The stitching on this one is tied tight just above the bowbolt and left loose below it. There's just enough play to loosen it, slide it over the split and take the bow apart.

The feather is from one of my first pheasants. I'm not a superstitious man, but carrying some remembrance, a small fetish from a prevoius hunt, again just *feels* right to me.
And here's someone else who's all dressed up for the hunt:

Thanks to my wife's relatives this little guy has more camo than I do!
Here he is watching some zebras:

He looks like a keeper! Hap
He looks like a "Hunter"!!
Very cool.
I broke out in a sweat looking at your earlier pictures, all those sharp blades so close to the string on a strung bow. Yea I know what your thinking, it makes a man nervous when it`s happened to him,and it has. That`s a good looking boy, your a lucky man.
real sweet
With bright eyes like that, there won't be any trouble spotting game there.
Very nice Jeremy! Looks like that boy of yours is already trying to figure out when to take the shot.
