I might be in the market for another bow soon, I shoot really well with straight grip longbows, does anyone make them other than Hill?
If you can find a Predator Classic by Bill Matlock, buy it.
Dave Wallace makes the Wallace Mountain longbow that is a very good shooter and looks second to none. If interested let me know and I'll get you a phone number
Check out Yellowstone Longbows. Rich makes a good bow.
Northern Mist by Steve Turay. First Rate.

Northern Mist Longbows
Northern Mist. Steve is a stand up guy and I would never hesitate to do work with him.
I'll second Yellowstone longbows. Rich makes a sweet shooting bow. Top notch workmanship.
I'll jump in for Northern Mist and Steve.

I just emailed northern mist about thier bows, very nice, I like the superior, does anyone have one and can they tell me how it shoots?
Sunset Hill...
sunset hill?
Also, the Liberty English.
Sunset Hill bows are made by Nate Steen in Idaho. I'll see if I can dig up his contact information.
They're gorgeous, especially the flamed 'boo with myrtle handles. And made in the mold of the John Schultz glass bows.
I do believe his wait list is about eight months...and worth every day.
Liberty English.
If you don't mind mild r/d, you'd be hard pressed to find a better bow of the style than the Robertson Purist either.
Guess you can tell these are one of my favorite types...lol...
I've also had a hankering for a "D" style from Dan Toelke, who also makes the "Whip" longbows.
BORDER BOWS!!!!!!!
I think you would be hard pressed to find a better Straight Gripped "D" shaped when strung bow than the Griffon!
No handshock even when shot down to a 6" brace height and F A S T!!! It is the TOTAL package in my estimation for that style of bow.
Libertys are REAL nice as well. I own a Cheif Elite and have been very pleased with it.
Lots of great choices out there today.
Liberty English. I picked this bow up yesterday after a six month layoff and was shooting with hunting accuracy from the first shot. You can also try before you buy.
Dryad Hunter, just got one and it is a beauty!
I used to have a Northern Mist Longbow. I wish I would have never sold it. It was one of the sweetest shooting longbows I have ever owned. I would never hesitate to get another one (if I could talk my wife into letting me spend the money).
Great Northern-The Bushbow and Critter Gitter are mild r/d, the Fireball more radical. If you were to opt for the Jackknife feature, the hinge acts like a mini-locator. Their straight grips are quite small; great for smaller hands. I shoot them better than conventional locator-gripped bows.
Are you looking for a Hill style bow, or just a straight grip? Most custom bowyers will make the grip to your specs.
Chad
If ya can find a Tim Miegs bow. I feel shoots smoother than most Hills.
Great Northern!!
