My local shop just put a 40% off sale on Easton Aluminum arrows. I just picked up a dozen fletched (5" feathers), cut and with insert 2114's for the low $40's. They have a camo pattern but I can't remember what it is (Mossy Oak maybe). Is Easton getting out of the Aluminum arrow business?
I'm tempted to clean out their inventory on arrows I may need in the future.

Spmetime a while back I heard that they were going to "phase" out some of thier lesser popular sizes. The impression that I got was they would still be making some of them but not to many.
>>>>Tim------->
The Cabalas catalog shows them in new sizes; 300,500.etc,like carbons.
i don't think they are getting rid of aluminum. i would believe they are cutting out some of their unpopular sizes cuz i shoot 2013's and they are getting pretty hard to find. the new black gamegetters are coming in 300, 400, 500 just like the other easton carbon arrows. but as far as i know they are still sticking with the other sizes for camo hunter xx75's, and super slams.
Won't tapered nocks be next to go?
I was recently at the retail location for the archery wholesaler, Norman Archery. They had been informed by Easton that they would only continue to produce five (5) aluminum shaft sizes.
Not enough recycled beer cans. Drink more beer!
Warbird, never let it be said that I didn't do my part,(hic) man this room is spinning.
iff it is true then im going to get a lifetimes supply off 2219 realy like them i like the 2216 out off my lighter bows can anyone confirm wich sizes they are going to discontinue
thx cody
:wavey:
What diameter are they?
I can see why they are cutting out some sizes. I find the 2114's and 2016's to be virtually identical in how they perform with my bow. The grain per inch amount is slightly different, but I can't see a difference in how they fly.
I picked up more 2016's at the 40% off price. They fly perfectly out of my Fedora Jr. Big East (48# at my drawlength of 26-1/2"). I cut them to 28".
It's good to see the 2016 is being continued as a 500. It looks like they are just trying to standardize their sizing.

yes but a 2219 is heavy almost 14 grains per inch so is the 2020 tough consistent arrows the 340=2315 is 12 grains per inch and is also larger diameter so i hope they are going to keep the 2219 2216 and 2020 im going to send easton an mail maybe they will answer me

We're a small market comparatively and most compound shooters use carbons. It only makes good business sense to go where the money is. Unfortunate for us aluminum shooters.
I stopped in a store today while traveling for business:
H & S Sporting Goods
708 S Saunders Ave
Princeton, WV 24740
(304) 487-1090
They had maybe 3 dozen 1916s and some 18?? @ ~$36 a dz. but less than a dz. 2016s. Just FYI if anyones looking for some of those smaller diameter shafts.
FWIW, according to Google, the owner's name is Howard Hill.
I just talked to Easton yesterday and asked them the same question, they told me that they will be in the alum business for along time to come, no plans whatsoever to faze them out.
I'm trying to find 2016s and 2117s with the super uni bush system--
Any ideas?
BWWAAAAAAAHAAAAHHAAAAAA! My plan is working! Prepare to be converted to carbon arrows....
;)
I'm glad I use Woodies....
The Easton 500s are the new 2016s.
Do they come with the super uni bushing system for the nocks?
I believe they can.
This is gonna hurt if its true.. been shootin 2216's for 25 years and 2020's for several.. guess neither will be available. A 2117 is close to a 2216 but its not the same, I would be shootin 2117 if they were..a good heavy 2020 will be hard to replace
The XX78 Superslam's still come in about as many sizes as they ever did. The newer types tend to be made in fewer sizes using the spine deflection measurement, like carbon does.
It's not really surprising that Easton is thinning out the variety of sizes. When aluminum was king the choices were almost mind boggling. You could get in the same spine a heavy, medium, light and superlight weight shaft. Choice is great but not when you are the one manufacturing them.
I just bought a couple dozen XX78, 2216's from Cabelas. They still carry them regardless of what the rumors say.
How about a 2018? Is there not a new number for them? 2016 is to weak for me.
