My buddy has located several ponds with some nice edible size bullfrogs and has invited me for an evening with my bow. He says bring a good, strong spotlight, but my regular headlamp and flashlight just do not seem bright enough to freeze those croakers.
What light do you guys use for spotlighting frogs?

I agree with the coon hunting light. I have used a rechargeable spot like and a coon hunting light and the coon hunting light is hands downbetter. The spot light was super bright but din't stay charged long enough and you had to have sombody hold the light.This willbe my first year after frogs with traditional takel i've bowfished wtih a recurve just never frogs. I have managerd to hold my spot light between my leggs and shoot with compound but i would think that would be impossible with traditional tackel
I've used an older Nite Lite coon hunting light for years. It's not nearly as bright as a lot of the newer makes and models out there but it has worked well for me. It came with a hard hat that the light connects to so you can work without having to hold the light in your hands. With a full charge it works well for all night hunts. I also carry several flashlights to use when I'm not actually spotting frogs just to keep from draining my battery. There are probably a bunch of coon hunting lights on the market that will work fine. I've been out of coon hunting for some time but I remember another brand, Cajun, that was a really nice light and much brighter than my Nite Lite. It cost a lot more than my Nite Lite though.

I use a Wheat Lite head (4 Volt bulb) or a Nite Lite head (6 volt bulb), and build the battery packs (6 volt battery charged up to 8 volts) myself. They last ALL night, and are bright.
It's very simple construction, I use a rechargeable gel battery, and a Radio Shack rotary switch with diodes soldered between each post on the switch. This drops the voltage about 1 volt per position on the switch and allows you to dim the light correspondingly.
Clear as mud?
Anyhow, it's a good rechargeable light for relatively cheap.

Sort of pricey though and you need a stabilizer hole for it. Intended for hog hunting, but I've always thought it would be great for frogs.
