I have made another improvement to my spine tester and I thought some would also like to see my Dremel based arrow saw.

My arrow saw uses a Dremel tool and some wooden pieces I put together.

The Dremel is held by a 1-1/2inch conduit clamp on a separate board so that it can be moved as the cutter wears. Also, it is sometimes convenient to have a mounted Dremel that one can move a work piece into, so it serves more than one purpose. The clamped stop is made from some scrap. There is a nut embedded in the front piece and a short piece of dowel rod is the plunger that clamps the rail.
I butt either the end of the shaft or the knock against the wooden stop and it works just peachy.

Her are answers to Bue and Shakes questions:
The scale is determined by trigonometry. The black arm that the pointer is attached to rotates at an angle proportional to the deflection of the arrow. The key to accuracy is to have this arm set up precisely. The spine is calculated by the AMO standard from the angle.
The weight is made from a two pound fishing sinker with a brass tube screwed into it. The precise weight is trimmed with lead in the tube and measured on a scale that is accurate to 0.1 ounce.
