I want to build a portable hanging curtain backstop out of indoor/outdoor carpet.Would I be better to have the 2 layers joined at the top --or have a 1/2 inch spacer between the layers? Would 2 layers be enough? the backstop would be behind my target and hopefully will cut down on my hide and seek games------I can`t make it permanent because it is in front of 1 of my wifes favourite flower beds and it is the only place that I can get up to 20 yards at home without bothering any body.-----Any hints or suggestions?Thanks.
P.S.------The frame is already available---I am using the monkey bar end of an old swing set---so it is just the curtain I need info on.Thanks.
I have a 4" space between mine. I made a large frame from 8' landscape timbers and just hung a piece of indoor carpent over it.It will stop my #45. on target points. BH fly right through.The carpet was new and lasted all winter and is still good. I just added another piece last week. I can't tell you how good the I/O carpet works?I just went to a carpet dealer and the were throwing 2 large pieces away (12x6). Good luck.

i layed a old welcome mat behind my block target to keep from hitting my neighbors house. depending on the tip it either bounced off or just barely went it. the farthest one ever got in was to the feathers from a shot 5 yards away.
I have outdoor carpet folded in half and hung over a PVC "bar" behind my 3D target (giving me 4 layers in all). I have it directly after the target to catch shots that might glance off the target's back and head in to the unknown. Arrows will still make it through the carpet (though it slows them down a lot ... target points anyway).
Thanks for the ideas----I think I am going to try multiple layers of light in weight carpet.
I have a Big Canvas Tarp That I was Thinking About Using. Maybe a Hook on My Roof and Build an A Frame for the Other. I will Set the Spacing on Both Ends, and I dont Miss that Often, just Security from the "Flyers" and the Neighbors.
Anybody Used Canvas like that Before? This is my Band-Aid Until I can get a Fence Up, then I might use it anyway, Cant Be Too Safe!!
Is there anyone Close to Crawfordsville that Builds Fencing, that Might want to give a Quote? My HandiCap-ness wont let me Dig Post Holes anymore. Honks My Cookies, but Thats Life in the Jungle I Reckon.
