Quick question,
As I have been bareshafting, I notice the nock end kick up, when it leaves the bow???
Is nock too high??? Or too Low???
No notice with fletched shafts...
Thank you
It could be either. Will come out high if the nock point is too high. If it's too low, the arrow will slap the shelf as it leaves the bow, kicking it up as well. Will just need to experiment. If you're 5/8 inch or more above the shelf now, try lowering it. If the arrow is about parallel to the shelf, try raising it. Good luck.
Follow the arrow shaft with nock set.
Good advice,
Jonesy, do mean, if the nock is coming out high raise or lower the nock???
Right now, I'm at 1/2" above center on a R/D Long bow...
Usually, when I bareshaft, I'm more concerned with where the shaft is hitting. If it's shooting low, I move the nock point down a little at the time - if its hitting high I move the nock point up. Usually by the time I get the shaft to hit where I want - up and down - the nock end of the arrow is not an issue...Hope this helps....
Gator, Wally hit it on the head follow his advice. Dont worry were nock is on square worry about arrow flight only, then record when you begin to get good flight. move nock set 1/16 @ time follow your nock with nock set, if nock rises raise nock set..Jonesy
