I thought I'd post a pic of a couple of my latest..
First is a Coco/Bocote with Juniper limbs...

Then there's the Machined Aluminum dipped in Predator camo... I know some prefer the metal...others prefer the wood...I love them both like there's no tommorrow!! What do you guys like?
Both are Longbows...

I do have to work on the grip on the metal job...but its a shooter for now!

Wood for me.
Metal is fine functionally, but I'll take wood over metal anyday. Beautiful bows by the way.
I like the wood. No contest. I would like to see more pictures of the wood bow though. Looks very nice! I've seen your before and they keep getting better. Love 'em. Mike
I would shoot either one any day. But I would grab a wood riser to hunt with. The metal risers get cold as a witch's you know whats in the winter. And transfer too much of that cold back into your hand.
I can't tell from the pictures. You're going to have to send them to me and I'll let you know :p
Seriously, I'm a wood guy myself. Metal might shoot great, but I'm a shallow man, and really into looks ;)
metal is ok, but wood is Good!
It feels good to use wood....
Thats for sure.
:0)
Thanks all...
Great work, Ernie. As usual. That bocote / coco makes a beautiful combo. Are you machining your own metal risers now or did you have it done to your design? Love to shoot one some day.
Love the metal riser. What kind is it?
I gave a guy who builds a recurve riser some dimensions...and he drew up and machined that riser for me... Pretty cool. His riser is known as the Black SHeep... its still in developemental stages, but...its the sweetest recurve riser I've shot..
This little metal riser will continue to develope...and when we get it to where I really like it, I'll probably sell them..it'll be a while for sure though!
Thanks James!
Ernie
Ernie, i like them both.......
"A silk purse to a sow's ear". Just my .02 because for me aesthetics are a huge part of the overall.
