I just got my necklace from Deerslayer1961 and it is amazing. What a deal I got! He was even kind enough to make Chase and Connor their own so they won't steal mine! I plan to wear it tomorrow at the shoot here on our farm. Can't wait!
JC got his feather painting from BKA today as well. WOW....it is amazing. Framed in a gorgeous frame and much, much larger than we imagined. JC has already hung it on the wall in his office/playroom...or "manroom" as he would call it.
So far we have been doubly blessed...the kids were blessed and we have gotten some true treasures with more to come.
Anyone else want to brag about their winnings/blessings? :biglaugh:
Well I just checked the auction page and my payment was received today SO....I should be getting my 58" Osage ambush bow next week. In case you missed it, this is one fine looking selfbow made by Huntrdfk (David) with copperhead skins, antler tips and an ostritch leather handle wrap. Golden Hawk (LeRoy), who put the bow up for the auction, just made up a new string for it and was gracious enough to make up another so I would have a backup. Before the auction I was planning to take that money and buy another glass longbow...BUT what I got instead was a true work of art by one of our own and the money goes to kids who really need it...talk about a WIN-WIN! Here are some pics of what I can't wait to get my hands on...

It's like Christmas in June.... :bigsmyl:
Although not as fancy as some of the items won. My storytime mug will start a new tradition for me when I'm sipping coffee out of it on opening day of NY bow season. And i cant stop smiling thinking about the stories i might be telling. Not to mention the kids we may have helped. :archer:
Back in 1998 I decided to get back into "traditional" archery. I met Joe Skipp, The owner of Renegade Archery, and from him I bought a 1967 Bear Kodiak Magnum,a Selway slip-on bow quiver, and a dozen of Joe's BEAUTIFUL custom made cedar arrows.
Over the years Joe and I have become very good friends, and I have ALWAYS shot Joe's custom arrows. When I pull one of Joe's arrows out of my quiver and shoot it,I know that arrow is going to fly MUCH straighter than I can shoot LOL!!!!!
Recently.....For his own personal reasons.....Joe has decided to stop selling his "custom made" arrows, and he donated the very last dozen that he made to the St.Jude's auction.....
I GOT'EM!!!!! :bigsmyl: I told my lovely wife Lisa that I might put us in the "poor house" but come "Hell or High Water" I was gonna win those arrows!!!!!
Joe is leaving on Saturday for an 8 day black bear hunt in Canada. I wish him "Good Luck"!!!!! I will be waiting for him to return,Then I can go over to his shop and sit and listen to the stories of his hunt, and pick up my new arrows.
I am a VERY lucky man..... :notworthy:
Miss Kim I'm waiting for your snail-mail. Sent a couple e-mails but no answer as yet. Maybe your bio e-mail is wrong. I checked my underarm deoderant and all ... :goldtooth:
The biggest blessing this auction provides for me is the confirmation that there are still good people in this world and they aren't afraid to step up for the right thing.
I won a Marbles knife too.
Oh yeah, I won 2 dozen great custom arrow wraps from Onestringer, and also a summit full body harness safety belt in camo fdrom Whip. On top of that, another generous bidder (Shawn West)gave me one of his (2) Bowyer tool sets he won from Eric Krewson. I made out very well indeed.
I am still patiently waiting for my items. I have to wait a whole nother week before I get to see my beautiful new Shrew
I've been out of town since the auction ended, made out the checks for my items and stuck'em in the mail box this morrnning, when I got home this afternoon, the mailbox was laying in the yard, with the flag still up. It seems someone clipped the mailbox off with their vehicle,(this is twice in 1 month). I sure hope they don't hit it when my stuff starts comming in !! :(
I'll try again in the morrnning. Can't wait too get my hands on the treasures I was lucky enough to get. Not a better way to spend money then for this cause.
Jerald
Here's a couple bows I bought in the Auction. Both of these were made by Curt Brisky (a member on here)in his earlier days. After a little touch up and a new coat of finish we have been shooting them. Damon (our Youngest) immediately latched onto the Static tip osage w/snakeskin backing. I favored the osage with painted deer skin backing (I already shoot one of Curts osage w/snakeskin backing bows which has become my favorite). I finished a small brushed rawhide back quiver I had been working on and painted it to go along with this bow. I added one of my wool woven straps and the fun of shooting started. We feel lucky that Todd Pendleton auctioned these and that I was lucky enough to win them. All went for a great cause and we get to shoot the bows. Thanks again to everyone out there. Court & Damon

Pretty bows, guys! Ya done gooo-oood!!!
I just got my quilt donated by 3dmuzzy and his wife. It is a beauty! Thanks so much for such a generous donation. Many here at our archery shoot today were able to see it. Many did not know about TG or the St.Judes auction and we told them how to get in on the fun for next year. What a blessing.....
Thanks tradgang!

(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v83/fishrofmen1/DSCN2397.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v83/fishrofmen1/DSCN2398.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v83/fishrofmen1/DSCN2399.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v83/fishrofmen1/DSCN2400.jpg)

Nice plates Frank...oh and yes, I would buy a shirt!

I GOT MY LONGBOW FROM BLKBIRD TODAY.JUST LIKE HE SAID.SHOOTS VERY GOOD EASY TO LOOK AT AND VERY QUITE.THANKS FOR THE GREAT BOW. JAMES
I received one of Rose's (Mrs. Bernie) afghans yesterday - more goodies still to come. Frank, where did you hide those plates on the auction? With all the time I spent looking at stuff on there I never once saw those! Cool find!
The plates were a twelvth hour addition, Whip, and Frank was already angling for them - LOL.
I also got your letter yesterdsay, thank you. Glad the Afghan arrived, I know you'll enjoy it. I've enjoyed many of them over the years. :campfire:
Cookie monsters get ready...... :saywhat:
:bigsmyl: :clapper: Got Milk? LOL
Whip your lucky I got home late or ALL those afghans might've been mine! Yes it does get cold here but I have some special ladies in my life that are getting two very special Rose made gifts soon.
Received my Pennsylvania Tuxedo Vest from 3D Muzzy today. Thanks!
Owlbait - Rose told me to ask you which one was your personal (very} favorite? (Don't ask me - I didn't ask her :p )
I cant wait to get my Afgan!! Ber Charlie will e-mail you tonight with our Address. This is sooo much Fun and for such a Wonderful Good cause. also a High Five to "Coots Cookie Co." :clapper: Well done Miss Kim!!
That's great, Billie Sue, Rose and i are so pleased that so many folks seemed to enjoy the Afghans being in the auction.
Bernie,
My favorite was the indian design. I would've made those fellers pay big dollars for that one :D Like I said before, those are beautiful works of art, Rose truly has a gift and I'm proud that I am getting two to share.
I thought I had one of those Afghans but went to check on it and couldn't get on the site. Next time I got on was after the cutoff and found someone had outbid me :knothead: Works of art they are!!! Next year!!!
Joe
Well I got my Cigars I won from Terry yesterday. I have them in the humidor and cold beer in the fridge waiting for me when I get home. Grab a smoke and a beer and go lay in the hammock tonight sounds great. Then it is off to Comptons in the morning. Life is good...
Tim the beer and cigar sounds great but treat yourself to some cognac with those cigars. :readit:
Joe
Got one pair of earings from Bernie today....thanks so much Bernie and Miss Rose.
The gifts just keep coming in!
Thank you Mike and Joe. Yep Calvin (Madpigslayer)got that one (Indian Designs) for his Daughter (Haylei). Rose said that was the hardest one to find the correct colors for (in this area) that she made - says she ain't doin' that one n'more - LOL. Yarn carrying stores aren't what they used to be. WallyWorld tries but there are so many colors they can't keep up with the alloted floor space.
My story time mug showed up the other day. It will hold a lot of java, good wake up mug before the hunt :archer:
Joe, Your right Cognac does sound better than the beer with these cigars.
Well every thing showed up today, The ear clips that Bernie donated and the reynolds Box call that DW donated. Oh and my little man Hunter is back today ( Been at the beach with nam nam while Dad and Mom had to work ). I love the items I won, but nothing is better than my kids.
(I did miss him). Well have a few to ship out as soon as the recipants are ready and then it's done.
Brian
I thought since these were "Custom Items", pics of my choices would be in order. My Custom Arrow Wraps from Onestringer. His Lovely wife Mindy is so helpful and efficient. They let me choose a different design for each dzn. of the 2 dozen. I had her add the "Semper Fi" to her first sugestion (from my "like" parameters), and I had her change the background on the second one to Sky Blue (from an attractive black), as well as add the words. She also made them 10" long for me. Their sample pictures are better than mine but you'll get the idea - quality work! I am very pleased, to say the least.

I picked up my Shrew at Comptons and man is that thing sweet. The pictures do not even come close to doing this bow justice. I would like to again thank Ron LaClair and Gregg Coffey for donating such a beautiful bow to a great cause.
Ok Tim, we need better pics then!
I knew that would come up. Dave I will take some tonight and post them here.
I got my incredible cookies from Miss Kim. Only mistake I made was to eat one before going to bed (cause I could wait till the following day), eat two the following day as a mid day snack and the last the day after. I've been on the tread mill ever since. Boy were they filling. Chocolate chip and nuts,,,doesn't get any better then that.
Also got my, I mean my niece's pocketbook from Mama Kohunna, my niece is gonna freak when she see's the ballerina's on it.
Thanks all.
I cant wait for my quiver to come in from Ron B,he said that he is including a bonus, dont know what it is?, but I'll let yall know when it gets here

I've got a great new Selway quiver for my PAW Somerset! Doc should have a beautiful Crow Creek Copperhead waiting for him to return home from hunting and fishing.
He already shot it yesterday Mike. He called to tell me about it. He is very pleased.

Just got back from a week long family vacation and was able to test drive my latigo Mike's Archery Leather armgard. Very Nice, cool and comfortable. Perfect for warm weather shooting. Thanks again Mike. Great product. Two of my buddies are very interested in getting one for themselves. Jeff
Well I got The Roger Rothaar book yesterday and started reading it in the car before I started driving home.
I got the Bread,Fudge, Java and more Friday. The Banana nut bread was great. I put the fudge and java in the freezer to save it for ATAR. By the way SunnyBear I have never seen so much foam popcorn and yet oddly enough the biscotti was broken and the banana nut bread was banged up some. Oh and that little bag of fruit and nuts, Where did you get that it was great I need more. the bag was too small. :-D
I got my two obsedian blades last friday and they are cool looking knives. Thanks Dennis!
Cookies from Miss Kim-check (delicious!)
Headnet from Dudley-check (man I look like a ninja!)
Boots from DW-check (should have ordered them in my size instead of my boy's!)
The only item outstanding is my quiver/bowcase from Shell which I am sure will BE outstanding. It is not due for some time.
I got my new to me Checkmate Falcon Deluxe from Bowdude. Thanks for the donation. I put a few arrows threw it. It shoots nicely. The problem is that I am shooting all my "going to Africa" bows right now, so don't have much time to play with it.
