What is the recommended brace height for the Crow Creek Blackfeather T/D longbow? I set mine initially at 7-1/4" for the dozen or so shots I shot out of it yesterday afternoon. It was very quiet at that setting, but I was wondering if some have found a greater, or lesser, brace height that works for them.

Bill,
On my 62" longbow, Elmer told me 7 1/2 - 8"
I found that ~ 7" was good for mine. I would start at 6 1/2" and bring it up slowly from there to hit that sweet spot. I only shot FF on mine and it is very quiet! I wondered how much more performance I would have gotten if I would have tried a different high performance string!!
and where the heck are the pics????

Joe,
Sorry about that! Hopefully, I will get the pics taken and posted tomorrow. I have a busy evening ahead of me with my cousin in town to visit us from back home, KS, and my daughter and her family, her husband and four children, coming over for a cookout. I will be spending the evening playing with and spoiling the grandchildren. At least I will spoil them until my daughter reminds me I'm not to do that! :D :bigsmyl: The little girl I'm holding in my Avatar is their next to youngest and the one I've spoiled the most!

Grandparents are SUPPOSED to spoil their grandkids. :)
Enjoy your evening Bill.
I set my 60" between 7.25 and 7.5. I can't remember exactly. But, I do remember that anything above 7.5 was loud and had a lot of handshock. Below 7 and it was not good either.
I may have gotten lucky on mine. When I get a new bow, or a new string, I twist the string at the bottom until I like the "looks" of the striping in the string, don't ask it just works for me! Then I put the loop on the lower limb and string the bow. Most often I find that I'm pretty close to the proper BH to hit the sweet spot.

For my 60" Black Feather Elmer recommended 7 3/8"-8". I think mine is at 7 1/2" right now and it is sweet shootin.
I would think 8"s is high, as it is an R/D bow and I would think it would get shockey after 7.5"s. I have not shot one one but reasoning and looking at the design would say around 7 to 7-1/2 tops. Shawn
