Beautiful... I'm amazed by your craftsmanship.
Terry
 wow, those are, wow, I'm speechless :notworthy:
Manny, they're just ridiculous!
Gives a whole new meaning to 'character bows'!
Awesome mate, just awesome!
Thanks guys
WOWZERS! Manny that bow is NUTZ! Bernie is gonna love that bow. Great job.<><
I have been getting some "sneak Previews" of my beautiful character Guava bow from Manny, and I am so excited I stammer a lot these days. I'm always thinking about it when I am trying to do other things - LOL. I have some previous in progress pics on the Gallery (numbers 13 and 14 as I recall) pages of my web site. When Manny sent me a PM just a few short days ago telling me it was finished and ready to ship, I had a hard time getting my breath - I mean it. I am so honored by it, and anxious to see/hold/shoot it - well ... you can only imagine. Bless you, Manny for your craft, hard work, and generousity, and you all will see and hear more about the bow when it arrives at it's new home in the "Mainland". A Glorious gift from my "Heart Home" of Hawaii, from a fine friend.
Oh yeah, love those tip pics, Manny!
Ohhhh my head hurts from looking at those :knothead:
Nice work Manny, especially like the tips/overlays treatment.
Once again what had to be tillering nightmares turned into working masterpieces!!
:notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
Holy smoke. Amazing. My bow looks like it just grew out of the ground. Very nice Manny. The tips are beautiful too. Funny to think that it I will be shooting it in the redwoods, being a tropical wood. I'm sure the bow will like it here. I am just four blocks from the beach.
I look forward to seeing it and shooting it. Thank you very much, Manny.
Best, Bob
I got to see these in their infancy and was amazed Manny was even thinking they'd make bows. I had my doubts but the proofs in the puddin and all done with no power tools! Awesome work Buddy, thanks for the pics!
Thanks guys,...hopefully bob amd bernie can post better picture, mine really do no justice to the woods :knothead: :knothead:
Where's the mailman, where's the mailman :jumper:
;)
Manny,
Still cranking out those awesome guava bows I see. I just missed you at the shoot at Wailua. You got alot of people talking about your bows at the shoot. They even started a selfbow division!
Ryan
Amazing work, they look strong and fast!
:clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
F-Manny
I just noticed (from Ghost Dogs Bio) that one of these two bows will be going to the West Coast (CA) and the other to the East Coast (NC).
What does that mean? I don't know - I tol ya, I can't even talk straight these days - :goldtooth:
Manny,
I'm floored by your craftsmanship. Those are two of best "character" bows I've ever seen.
How the heck do you even tiller those things? Do you try to get each limb to move the same amount relative to each other and not worry about getting a perfect arc?
Those are fantasic.
Ghost Dog and Bernie, please post fulldraw pics when the bows arrive.
Stan
It will be my distinct pleasure, Stan. I can hardly wait.
Stan, getting a perfect arc on Bob's bow would be impossible, just get an immaginary arc on the top limb to match the bottom one, Bernie's I think came out with a pretty good arc, I'm trying to get some better pictures today and full draw to.
Ryan good to hear from you.
thanks for the compliments
Now that thing is pretty wild looking for sure. And a very nice job also. Good guy Bernie will love it I'm sure.
thanks stic, hope to get full draw pictures soon
NS,
Did you ever finish your Osage/Guava comparison bows? Seems you were mid - build along when you slipped under the radar for a bit.
Yeah Bernie I told you he run out of all the good straight stuff. :) Amazing that those bows are even bows! :bigsmyl:
Talondale, yes I did and posted a thread a couple of months back, showing a few other bows as well, can't quite remember the title.
thanks James :D
Those give new meaning to reflex deflex.lol!jonesy
Awesome as always Manny. Excellent.
Bernie you better bring that thing to ATAR next month.I promise not to shoot it but I do want to see and touch it just a little. :) Of course I still want to see the 33" test on the bow you built. :bigsmyl:
James, if it reaches "The Mainland" in time, you can count on me bringing it to ATAR in July - as long as you keep "Peachey" and his 33" draw away from, both, my wood lam that I built, as well as this Guava from Manny - LOL. They'll stress test just fine at my 26 to 27(on a good day) inch draw. :archer:
OK I promise to tie Peachy's hands or something then. :)That boy sure can stretch the kinks out of a bow!I thought he was going to pull my little Morrison apart at Hickory. ;) :biglaugh:
Oh, Nooooooooooo!
Manny, I found it! (http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=042817) So how did you like the character of osage compared to guava?
To be honest with you Talondale without a crono I can't tell the difference between the 2, hunted with both about a dozen times each and they seem equally rugged, only difference I've noticed is a little more handshock in the Osage.
bottom line I'm not going out of my way to try aquire Osage, ...guava does what I need it to do in a hunting bow, pass tru in animals :bigsmyl: and taking the punishment of hunting conditions.
If you check PRIMITIVE ARCHER site the southern comunity bow was made from one of my staves, osage bowyers tillered it, and had real nice things to say about how hard the bow was shooting :bigsmyl: :bigsmyl:

Y'all know were else these beautiful Full Draw pics will appear, right? I'm starting out an unbelievable TBD Page 13 Today! Lookin Goooo-oood, Manny!
I still find it hard to believe that beautiful bow is soon going to be mine! I am so blessed. They both are beautiful bows - but I am a "leetle bit" prejudiced towards mine, I must admit :D .
Bernie, you are a lucky man! :)
F-Manny
This is true, F-Manny!
I think the bow is in flight by now :bigsmyl:
Bless your heart, Manny - I almost swallowed my dentures when I read that - now I'm really on needles and pins!!! :clapper: :jumper:
Manny, Those are just amazing & stunning...Doc
I've watched Manny make these two bows from start to finish....I still can't believe the patience he has. After the initial ruffing out with a machette everything else was with a file and scraper.....amazing...the hours he put in tillering those bows....aint no way I could ever have that kind of disipline. I would have brought out the power tools :bigsmyl:
Nice job Manny! Bernie I think "Hula Girl" is a better name anyway
Jerry
I've come to that conclusion too, Jerry (about the name that is). I have no doubt about the patience the man must have when working on bows that way. I love the look of her - that head on Full Draw is a classic!
Thanks guys
Oh, I should be able to shoot that bow just fine. What a tillering job!!!!Can't wait.
I really, really hope it shoots good for you Bob
Great looking bows Manny, I can only imagine the tillering that went into these, both Bernie and Ghost Dog are blessed to have these coming to them. Great work, and it's a good thing you've done here.
David
:notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
Thanks David,Jeff
Manny-
Fantastic work!!!
Bryan
hey manny real fantastic work bro. :notworthy: my hats off to you
"Hula Girl" ( her name was changed in the twelfth hour - ;) ) arrived, safe and sound, today and is more beautiful than I even dreamed, Manny. I'll be a good (and safe) ol' coot and let her acclimate for a couple weeks (as you suggested) while I just "pet" her (LOL) and make a nice new string for her. I am truly so moved by the grace and beauty of this bow, Manny, as well as your generousity, with your hard work and skill. I'm on cloud nine! Gotta go look some more!
:clapper: :jumper:
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D Bernie
thanks Bryan and Jeff
Hey Manny,
I will be leaving Montana today, so if my bow has arrived I will not see it until tomorrow, unless my house sitter was there to sign for it. Can't wait!!!
Hey Manny, the bow was waiting for me in my house when I got home. Very nice finish work my friend, and the tips are some of the nicest I have ever seen on a selfbow. I will have to scrounge a string for it, but since I will follow your advice and not shoot it for a couple of weeks, that will be no problem. It is a beauty; made with great skill and care. I am very grateful and appreciate your kindness and generosity.
YEAH !!!!! both bows got there in one peace :bigsmyl: :bigsmyl:
Hope shoots good for you Bob.
They are in one piece now but ATAR is coming up soon.Right Bernie. ;) :biglaugh:
Great news for Manny and Bob!
James, bite your tongue, buddy - and watch out for "snakes" :D ;)
I took "Hula girl" out for her daily "sunbath" yesterday. She seemed to appreciate it :saywhat:
