Title: painting limbs
Post by: RodL on June 02, 2007, 10:12:00 PM
I just finished camo painting the metal riser on my Quinn Stallion. I'm thinking about doing a camo job on the limbs, I used a primer/sealer before I painted the riser, then camo painted it. Should I primer the limbs with the same primer or just paint them without it? Thanks

Hey Rod
I am a professional painter who's painted just about everything at some point. The best thing to do in my opinion is to sand the limbs thoroughly with about a 220 grit to give the primer something to grip to and then go ahead and prime them with a good spray primer, something that you would use on a car. Shellac based primers such as a product called BIN would work well also. BIN sticks to just about everything including glass.
