I bought a new Crow Creek Blackfeather 3-piece T/D longbow yesterday evening from a bow shop in Little Rock, AR, Mike Boone (Papa) put me onto the shop.
My new Blackfeather is 62", 51#@28", Cocobolo/Bocote riser and Bamboo limbs. It should be shipped today and I'll be shooting it a week from tomorrow!
Bill
Wildman - I know that bow. It is absolutely beautiful and a sweet shooter!!! I bought my first trad bow last year from Jerrell at AA and it was a Black Feather. Man, you just can't beat Elmer's bows! The quality and attention to detail is unsurpassed - even by the expensive bowyers.

Arkansas1,
Yeah, Jerrell told me the bow was prettier than a Southern Belle! :D Cocobolo and Bocote are my two favorite riser woods and I really like them in combination. I've seen lots of pics of Elmer's bows and he doesn't build any ugly bows, that's for sure!
Bill
Do they have a website......
archers-advantage.com
Not many specifics on the site, but there's a whole buncha trad bows and trad stuff in the store. Jerrell is a trad shooter, but there's just more money in the wheelie bows and accessories so he carries a lot of that stuff too. He's pretty high on most of his stuff, but the service is really good. I bought both of my trad bows from him. I'd rather pay the extra and be able to shoot it before I order a new bow that I've never shot.

Mike,
No they don't. But if you will do a search on this forum on Crow Creek Longbows, you will find quite a few threads and some contain pics of some of Mr. Patton's gorgeous bows/work.
Bill
Mike - I didn't realize you were asking about Crow Creek Bows.
They are nice. I have a T/D he made for me about 6-7 years ago. I had hime make a set of recurve and longbow limbs. Those little Copperheads are some shooters too. There is one on the Auction.
very nice. looking forward to the pics.
you'll be very happy with your blackfeather.

Joe,
I came oh so close to getting yours. It got me to looking for another. Fortunately there are a lot of TradGangers from AR and one of them gave me the lead on the shop in Little Rock that stocks some of Mr. Patton's bows. It took longer to get the correct credit card and shipping info on the order than selecting the bow! :D
Bill
Joe, did your Black Feather sale, or did ya back out? I would have!! That's one of the best looking bows I've ever laid eyes on!! Elmer builds some nice bows. Jr.
WHAT NO PICS? C'mon somebody post pics of one of these bows.<>< BTW Bill when you get ready to part with her let me know. :bigsmyl: <><
Wildman you just do a lot of trading and bow buying-HuH Well show us some pics when you get it. Thats a good wood combo.

Mike it's an infectious disease for which there is no treatment, other than another bow! :biglaugh:

Frank,
I don't have mine yet, but I'll post some pics when it does arrive. Go to the following link and you'll see a few pics of some of Mr. Patton's work:

Bill
Who is the black feather made by? I ran into a guy at a shoot some time ago who was selling longbows under the name of Black Feather. The bows were made in Alabama.
Doug
Crow Creek are made by Elmer Patton in Arkansas.
Elmer makes a sweet shootin bow. I took my first turkey with mine in SD this past season. Mine is a Black Feather 3pc bocote and ebony. I'd post pics of it but I'm not computer literate enough.
Those Crow Creek bows are high on my list of lookers and performers...
This link might have been posted already, if so please disregard.

Joe,
Yes, I picked it up yesterday afternoon. It sure shoots sweet. I don't know how you are letting yours go! I'm sure it is something you would rather not do.
Bill
Joe that bow looks just like my Black Feather. Bocote and ebony? I assume you're shipping it out cause you sold it?
Joe, did my Bubba Nakohe buy that from you? he told me he just bought one.
Danny
Yes, Bro. That is mine. Can not wait to see it up close and personal.
Donald
Danny should have known, afterall, he didn't buy it. ROTFL!
ROTFLMAO so hard it made me cry. David I guess it does look like we are trying to corner the market. LOL
Donald,
You beat me to the punch on this one. Fortunately, I was able ask enough questions to find a shop that had one in stock that meets my needs. As you know, they are great shooting bows! And I say that after shooting mine only 12 to 15 shots when I picked it up on Thursday.
Bill
I'm going to try a pic and see if it loads:

Bill
I've edited this pic I don't know how many times and the editor tells me it is 640x480. It seems large to me. If it is, please let me know and I'll delete it. I had difficulties using PhotoBucket this morning so I tried another photo hosting site. I have four more pics to post once I can get them sized properly. I'm going to the Archery Shop now to shoot it and I check and see if I still need to resized when I get back.
Bill
WOW Bill that is a stunning bow. Keep me in mind.<><
Frank,
Thanks! I'll share a couple of phone numbers with you of stocking dealers, or I can give you Mr. Patton's phone number. I can safely say this bow has found a home as long as I can continue shooting a bow. I may order a set of lighter limbs, say 45# for when I have to drop down in draw weight.
Bill
Frank,
Your mailbox is full. I can't respond to your PM.

Beauty!
It's a beauty to look at and it's a beauty to shoot. There's going to be some whitetails with holes poked in their boiler rooms this fall!
Bill
ttt for Clovis/Elmer Patton, the bowyer for Crow Creek bows
Bill
Mighty Fine!!!
Mighty fine indeed...
Doug/Shane,
Thanks! Mr. Patton does make a mighty fine bow. The best part is they shoot as great as they look!
Bill
So is the Harrier for sale?

Bob,
I don't have it, yet. It'll probably be September/October timeframe.
My Black Feather is on its way to Wynne, AR for Mr. Patton to reduce the draw weight to 48# and refinish the limbs. My old shoulders just can't handle as much weight as they used to be able to withstand. Growing old's not for sissies! :( :knothead:
Bill
She's a beauty Bill.
Some years ago I lived not far from you, in Monk's Corner.
Elmer sure knows how to make a looker and a shooter!!
Joe,
He sure does. They are gorgeous bows and even better shooters. I love the finish he puts on his bows. Pictures just do not show how the finish actually looks with the bow in hand. I've never seen a finish that is anything like it on the other 60+ bows I've owned.
Bill
I picked up my Crow Creek Black Feather today at the Archery Shop after Mr. Patton reduced the draw weight to 48#@28" and refinished the limbs. The bow shoots even better than before, mainly because the draw weight is much more comfortable for my right shoulder and my string fingers.
Bill
awwww that's a better weight for me too. lol
