I have quite an old Hawkeye from Indian Archery. Nice recurve, still strong, 50# draw at 28". the tip has split on the bottom about 3 inches into the limb. Does anyone know if this is repairable, or should i just hang it on the rack?
is it a vertical split in the glass?
Yes...

It is a vertical split...can it be repaired?
probably fill it with superglue and it would be alright, but Im not a bowyer so wouldnt take my word for it.
lol...
I'm just getting warmed up at this bow building myself, but it would seem to me that if this was either epoxied or superglued correctly, and a good tip overlay was applied to relieve presure on the stress point....you just might pull it off bro....i'm hoping some of the more experienced bowyer might chime in for you...but thats how i'd give it a try....it ain't gonna do ya much good hanging on a peg....Kirk
I had a tip damaged in shipping and very successfully repaired it by putting Loktite 420 in the crack, and replacing the missing overlay with phenolic (two ton epoxy for the overlay). The bow was as good as new.
