I recently purchased some used 2016's and when I had them cut off, I found out there was some sort of packing foam inside..
Anyone have any ideas on removing it???
Am I correct it would affect spine, just overall arrow weight???
Thanks for the help
Someone packed that in there to add weight. I tried that once. I got it out with a straightened coat hanger. I hammered the end over
at a 45 degree angle. Make sure that bent tip of the hanger is small enough to fit in your 2016 still. And I just picked away at the stuffing until it was all out.
hey bro heat a bit of wire up and poke it down it will soon burn it out. or you can just burn a bit out and put your insert in. up to you.
Remove the nock ... File down the tapered end just until you make a small hole ... Then push it out with wire ...
With 2016s you should have no problem getting 5/16" nocks back on straight ...
Good Luck!

Why bother to take it out? Adds a little weight to the shaft and dampens noise. Does not appear to affect spine. If you must get it out, the heated wire should work just fine.
Acetone will disolve it.
