I have been pretty fond of the 5" high back shields in red and white..but now am starting to like the bananas a little...thinking about doing some in wild turkey feathers.. tell me what your favorites are!
the 5 1\\2" high back paras from the feathers you sold me, I like all white, or two red with one trad barred
5.5 inch chartreuse shields in 3 fletch, and 5 inch shields in chartreuse four fletch.
I like 5" shields or 5" traditional cut. The color depends on what I am gonna do with them. For stumpin' and practice I use bright colors like chartreuse and blue. You know, colors that you don't find in the woods in case I miss. For hunting I like to use green barred with a 1" chartreuse splice on the back of the cock feather for visibility in flight. Have a good day, TMG.
5-inch parabolics, all white...
terry..those babies must glow in the dark... i bet ya dont have any problem seeing those heading for the pumper station.!!
4 inch 4 fletch natural turkey feathers.
I used to be a big fan of the high back shields but now I'm into little 4 inch bananas in no particular color.

4" banana 4 fletch...2 gray goose & 2 white. I can see them in flight & the goose helps with wet conditions. Doc
i love the natural turkey feathes.. im thinking of doing some 4" banannas with them..is it necessary to go to 4 4" bananas to control a broad head... or will 3 4" bananas do it...
I would go with 4 4" steve but I would try it both ways if you can
btw I like 3 5.5" high shield cuts no matter the color but am thinking of doing some 4 fletch

I really like the 5" pope and young/raptor cut for my recurves and 5.5" banana for my longbow. As for color I like a white cap with all white feathers and a white noc. At dusk I have trouble seeing anything other than white or yellow flying through the air. I thought red would be good but during autumn I have had trouble seeing those.
4" Hunter cut from a Vario Clipper in a 4x90 config. Usually all white or a combo of white, pink or purple. Sometimes spliced...

3 white 5" shield cut feathers, with a white crown dip. Very easy for my eye to pickup.
Bill
sounds like white might be the most popular color.!!!!
I love JC's spliced! For my own arrows, I like a 5" medium or low shield cut. When I come to anchor, I feel that corner in my mouth...not a good solid consistant way to anchor, but I am a bit unorthodox in just about every field!
Color choice depends on shaft color, my mood and what is on hand.

5" Parabolics or shield cut. Chartreuse barred and 2 chart. With a chartreuse wrap.
I like the looks and flight of 5" shield cut. Colors depend on what color scheme I am doing at the time. Right now I am making some spruce arrows crowned brown, crested with black, gold, and orange. Fletched with natural barred orange and cock feather is brown. Nock is orange....fall colors. Not good stump shooters because they will blend in too well! But I think they are going to be purdy!
me i love 5"low shield and bannana turkey feathers real quiet and quick.
Right now Im at 3 5's but seriously debating going to 4 4's colors right now are red/whitebarred hen's and black cock feather. Really like them cool colors and easy to see white nock and wraps help to.
5" parabolic, 2 yellow, 1 traditional barred cock feather
5" LW shield cut, bright colors(white & yellow mostly) on top of 9" bright wraps(white and/or yellow as well). Gonna try some combinations of flo orange soon though. Really like how it shows up in flight as well.
5 1/2" high back shields; florescent yellow and white. Great visibility!
Claudia
