Well first off sorry to the moderators for another knife thread, but I couldnt help myself. After seeing all the threads on making knives I had to try it. First try is with a fileground to shape with antler scales and brass pins. just finished the handles at work today (while I should have been working, and was wondering what is a good way to finish / seal the antler after sanding. Here is how it looks now. I wanted to post pics of the build but camera issues prevented. sorry. well thanks again for any information ....matty

nice looking knife, i would just buff it on a buffing wheel
If it's as smooth as ya want it just take somew crazy glue and rub it all over the handle and wipe it off. Let it dry and I always use 600 grit steel wool and lightly rub it and them lightly buff on a wheel.<><
thanks sticshooter tried the crazy glue and steel wool came out nice just have to buff but looks nice thanks again. oh just a side question stic, you wouldnt happen to have any of your fine antler knobs with deer tracks in them for sale. thanks again... matty
I use spray polly
Drew Poly is great if ya want a shiny antler. CA glue give a light gloss and still looks natural and soak into the antler and stabilize it some.<><
I like some of them to look shiny , more for display purposes. :0)
