There is so much great stuff in there already. What's your favorite so far?
That new Shrew Classic Hunter!
I'm almost pos-a-tif my fororite is the one that hasn't been posted yet - so y'all get busy and add 'em on.
That's a tough one, so much to choose from.....probably out of my reach but the LDB is right up there...
David
It's really hard to list a favorite. I really like Tippit's knife. Then again, I don't own one of Doug's yet, and that one with Roughcountry's sheath - WOW! And the Sunbear recurve... man, my bank account is in trouble if I go after any of those. :scared:
Lots of great things out there again this year. I wrote down a whole page of stuff to watch and try to get something if my favorites get out of reach!
Well....The Sweat Knife sure would feel pretty sweet, as well as a couple of them Arrow Boards.
Then fer giggles I need another Shrew in my Stable. I don't really like that SunBear for a fishin Bow, so I'll let that one pass. Who knows Hope and the LDB have appeal.
I hope everyone is Blessed with the Desires of their Hearts. And that we can Bless St. Jude's
I cant say that I have a favorite. This is the first year ive been around as a member for this and I cant begin to explain how awesome it is that a bunch of friends and strangers are willing to do this for the children. Trad guys are a special bunch. Im proud to say im a member around here.
To much neat stuff for me to pick out just one, but I must add, I agree 100% with Dustin on the last 2 statements he made. This is a very special group of folks that I am proud to be associated with. Thanks guys & gals !
ARCHER2
Doug's Elk Trip-Hands Down! What is too bad for me is great for the kids; it will go for more than I can throw!
Vance's fishing trip, the Sun Bear bow, one of the bow hunts in Georgia, or maybe some cookies. (They shouldn't cost more then ten dollars each.) :biglaugh:
Dustin,
Wait till you see what some of the items go for. It will really hit you then.
I like Tippit's knife contibution.
Yup, some of us have even been known to bid against ourselves when we think something is going to be to cheap.
Yeah Dave, I have bid against myself, but I think it was more a matter of trying to keep the wolves from closing in! :biglaugh:
As great as some of the gear looks, my favorite so far has to be the hunt-a-long trips.
Hoping some more hunts will get posted so Tippit and I can plan another trip together next year :readit:
I like the quivers and both selfbows
One of the hunts, Soaring Eagle bow, a knife or two. Wow, too much to try for. Hope I can afford something I like.
Terry's Hog & Deer hunt at The Paradise. That's got my name all over it :D Have bow, will travel!
Boys and girls, the Mossy Oak bow hunt is going to be a good one. I've did several of these over the years and I'll do everything in my power to make this one un-forgettable. It's a great opportunity and the fringe benefits are going to be great! I'll try to locate some pics from some of the past hunts. I'm looking foward to it. Don Wilson
Don could I bring my Bow Stringer along ?
Hunts, bows, knives, quivers, books, afghans, etc etc. Something for everyone. I'm still working on my favorite. Everytime I go through that forum something else catches my eye.
Hog hunt in Paradise for sure.
A favorite?! There are sooo many things on that list that I "want" I couldn't begin to think about picking just one as a favorite.
OH NO.....Just got back from a trip to the Auction site, Picked up another must have....Have ya looked at those SWEET....Campbell Trade Point neck knives.
I hope that y'all will allow me somethin without a FIGHT :bigsmyl:
Wishful Thinkin I reckon :banghead: :banghead:
So far i want the hunt at Joe and Kim's place. The sunbear would be nice as would the deer/hog hunt at paradise.

Ho HO! Back off there Chad! I got deeeep pockets & a plane ticket! :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
I like the dancing darlings pocketbook. It's got "treestep carrier" written all over it!!!!
:scared: :biglaugh:

Just lost my coffee...and gained another caffeen keyboard!!!!! :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
Terry them coffee mugs gave me an idea....... Bobblehead dolls. :biglaugh: Oh yea, collect and trade all of your favorite Trad Gang characters.
We have surpassed last years donations and there are still some folks who have donated in the past that we haven't heard from yet. We need about 50 more donations to really be sure of hitting $50,000. Keep up the great work folks.
Ray, that purse would work great for you, bid it up. :goldtooth:
Call it what you will Ray!! A purse is still a purse. :D
Hey, that's a man-bag, baby!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or is that a 'bro', or a mansiere????? :biglaugh:
Ask Kramer, he could tell you.
Sorry I'm not pokin' folks with the picked stick quite as much right now but I came back from Baltimore a little puny. Don't think I'll be able to make Hickory this weekend. Surely I'll be up to my usual goading and biteing of heels by auction time though - just a cold I reckon.
man i was sweat'n it reading everyone's favorites. just glad to see no one said they wanted them "Miss Kim Cookies". already went out and bought me a gallon of whole milk. wife tried to switch it for 1% and i said no way, gotta have the real stuff for them cookies.... might need to bid on one of them hunts after i eat all those cookies. i'll need to work off all the calories i'm sure.
So many good things it's hard to pick one!
Nope...That Dog don't hunt Vance :knothead: :knothead: :banghead: :banghead:
I have a couple dozen favorites, and they are all
COOOOOOOoooooo KEEEeeeees !!!
Ima gonna get me some BAHR Grease from Campbell :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
If money was no object: I'd be going on an Elk hunt with a new Turkey Creek longbow!!!! :bigsmyl: Terry
I hesitate to even mention my favorite item. I said something about cookies a few days ago and well, you know........Anyway, I actually have two favorites, the neck knives made by Skyler Wilson with Doug's points. Only problem is , I'm not sure which one I like the best. Prolly the one with the 'gator sheath. That's some nice work!
Oh boy, here we go again Mr. Walker! I was eyeing up those neck knives too! They're beauties! Good news is there are enough for both of us!
I think it's safe to say we can all go broke this year. :D
I was hopin those little beauties would be sleepers, what am I stupid!!
Oh well, recon I better go clean out the kids college funds. Too bad there ain't 3 of em!!
Hello Bob, this is Skyler and I want your knife a lot also. My great-great-great-grandfather was at Stone's river also, I believe. We've got 1 more DC neck knife to post, it's a damascus blade also with Purple heart and red oak handle and an alligator sheath. Dad's going to post it tomorrow I think. We've got 8 more items to post, including 4 knives (nice ones), ground blinds, broadheads,Thermacells, and Streamlight flashlights. I want your knife. SKYLER
There you go, Kenny, Skyler said there will be 3 of them! :bigsmyl: We'll just have to duke it out on who gets which sheath. I guess I'll be happy with any of 'em, but I DO LIKE that gator one.....
Skyler, You did an OUTSTANDING job on the two that are posted. Can't wait to see the other one. You and your dad, ROCK, with all of those AWSOME donations! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
Yup, the Don and Skyler have set the bar real high. Great job guys!
EXCUSE ME....Mr. Walker and Mr. Skyler. But I am still VERY much an active participant that BOTH of you will do well to remember  :readit:
I concede that I did open my keyboard to the fact that I had a desire for one of them neck knives....That should have been warning enough, TA BACK OFF. You Mr. Skyler I can understand not knowin better. I was gonna challenge you to a 3d shoot off fer Bob's knife. My mind got changed when I saw what ya did to that Poor SLOW PIGGY. So fer the knife I challenge ya to a Wyoming Antelope shoot off. fer that rusted out Knife of Boarder Bob's.
Oh Crap, Here we go again :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
Hee Hee Heeeeee :D :D :D
Nirk Huntsman = Robtattoo
Man,
Everytime I think I know what I am gonna bid on something new is added. So many choices but def. gonna be biddng on Jeramy's knife,Dog and roughcountrys knife and sheath,JasonV armguard and a few other items.
Danny
Here I'm think a matched set of Young Master Skyler's knives would look real good...one for display & one around my neck! Don't think there will be enough of them to go around...Doc
Oh Boy!! Word done got out!! Gotta break out the bbbiiiigggg bucks now!!! :bigsmyl:
All right, unless most of you guys are just being quiet about it ( fer testosterone reasons of yer own ;) ) I think you better be showing Rose's Afghans to yer wives - or this ol' fool is in a whole heap'a trouble!!! :scared:
("Sure, honey, make some more - they'll go well like the two last year did!!!")
All these "fav" mentions and not a peep about those 7 (count 'em, 7 - I think  )except VTM slidin' over 'em in passing. Oh me, oh my
(Just kidding - I fully expect good things from quiet folks who know the value (and warmth) of items like those - I have faith!)
I wouldn't worry Bernie, those afgans are going to do just fine! Rose is really "spreading the warmth around" this year! :readit: Better be ready to ante up in five days!
what??? Nobody is gonna fight with me over the 'dancin' darlings treestep carrier'???????? My feelings are hurt. :(
I ain't gettin betwixt YOU and CHARLIE :scared:
Mmmmm...
I'm starting to get HONGREEEE....
I guess I could use some JAVA to wash down my cookies, and maybe even a little fudge on the side.
Hmmm...that doesn't sound quite right...
Ray, just in passing, I ran into someone at Baltimore (you know how fuzzy my memory gets sometimes) that had a bow they said was one they got from you. Right at this moment I can't remember who it was or what the bow was - I do remember it was a nice looking bow.
That might have been SuperKodiak38, or JL, but not sure.
OK - y'all go back to your "threatnin' 'n posturin'" now - . :D
Last years donations numbers have been well bested. Still have a few days yet too.
buckle
AND to think - some folks never post their donations 'til the gittin' gits to gittin' - and even then some folks add some goodies on as the frenzy gits .... er .... frenzier-ed (???) :smileystooges: :knothead:
Yup, last year it caught me totally off-guard and I didn't get my donation in until after things were up and running.
Told myself then that I'd have something ready in plenty of time this year....
Caught me nappin' again!
Fortunately I had been 'experimenting' - and have something close enough to being done....
For the record: there are wayyyyy too many goodies on there to pick just one favorite (or twelve...)
Ooohhh...
I might be diggin' me some nanner nut bread as well...
Gotta have something to chase down the cookies...
Y'all stop that now - you know I ain't supposed to have sweets 'n pastries 'n the like Grrrrrrrrrrr
!["" "[dntthnk]"]("graemlins/dntthnk.gif")
:D
I'm with Vance on the neck knives, Skyler did a great job on those. Course what did ya expect he's left handed! One of those just may keep some of you cookie nappers back. Go ahead reach for one of those cookies (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l101/GUNSMITHAMMO/icon_hang.gif)
Brent
The forum is incredible. FOlks are really stepping up.
My favorite? Well, I suppose we can start with this...
HI EVERYONE,this is the last of the neck knives. The sheath is real crocidile. We just added 10 new items and thats all we have collected. Dad works in the sporting goods industry and most of these items were donated by his friends. Thanks for the comments about the neck knives and thanks Doug Campbell for the blades. Vance, I might just take you up on that antelope shooting contest. (http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k209/rickybob_2006/CIMG0475.jpg)Thank you, Skyler.
wish I could afford that sunbear!!!!!!!!
Dang Charlie can make LEFT HANDED ONES. Just what did I do with that credit card application. :D He may be set in his ways, but I like em long, heavy smooooooth. Now what am I to do. (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l101/GUNSMITHAMMO/4_12_12.gif)
Brent
Skyler, You do some mighty nice work on those handles. PM me your address some time so I can send you a blade to finish up. Can't let Mr Campbell have all the fun watching his creations come alive :) Doc
Mr.Springer, This means a lot to me. Dad and I both love your knives. Thank you,Skyler
Sure Doc. put the Schmooze on him
:saywhat:
I see ya about to throw a rock in the creek :notworthy: :notworthy:
Vance,
I can't keep up with you anyway...really! Seems I torn a meniscus in my knee at the Sweat...thought it was just a sprain. Oh Well, Chester seemed to do Ok for a long time on Gun Smoke :)
Note to self: If that Schmooze doesn't work try a little self pity angle to sneak in a bid :biglaugh: Doc
Now there's a Pike County hunt up. Come on Power Ball!!!!!
So I guess I better plan on a earlier than planed retirement HU? :banghead: :banghead:
We could post up a hunt with the "wrecked crew" Vance. We might get some spare change for the kids that way. :bigsmyl:
So, besides bein' sneaky - y'all are all tore up besides. Geeze, things could get really testy when the biddin by the "shut-ins" starts :bigsmyl:
It sure is hard to stay focused on favorites this year. Not only are there far more listings, but it sure seems like the quality of the items offered up this year is WAY up as well! I have an entire page of a notebook filled up with items I would love to bid on, and I don't see anything that is going to go cheap! :banghead: :banghead:
Cooooo Keeeeeeee
Bernie,
might that have been a 1958 Bear 'LDB' kind of a thing???? I have only owned two Bears...a cub and a '58
I'm just not sure, Ray. Probably shouldn't have brought it up. (Did Woody get one from you - He camped with us Sat night?)
So MANY choices So LITTLE money :banghead: :banghead: Sure is going to be an interesting time...
I am not at liberty to say ;-)
Dan
the turkey wing! YUMMY! :bigsmyl:
Well my wife spotted that purse Robin made so's I recon I'm gonna have to give one or two of the bunch I'd already picked out  ;)
But Robin already said I could have it for a fencin bag :scared: :scared:
Oh Great, My wife saw that same purse...now I have to bid against Karen again :banghead: Doc
Let's see, I already have a week hunt in Pike County scheduled for the last of October/first of November (compliments of my Dave Johnson and the Montana Bowhunters Association) so extending it to two weeks might allow me to be a little picky and wait for a really big one. However, all the Georgia hunts, a couple hunts in Texas, and the Mossy Oak hunt are appealing, and a change of scenery can be nice. I might have to visit Vance for some fishing, target practice, and pick up my picture later this summer. With all the hunts this fall, my new Sun Bear bow will even get a spot in my bow rotation. But, Sue is eyeing Robin's purse and that will surely cut into the budget.
This is gonna be great!!!
NOT in my league but if I had hit the lottery ..... Let me just say, "Bless your heart, Thunder, - you make my heart smile!!!"
Can you taste page 5?
SHOCK and AWE with whats going on over there SHOCK and AWE :notworthy: :notworthy:
"posted May 24, 2007 09:59 PM the turkey wing! YUMMY!
From: Fort Worth Texas | "
Now THAT'S funny, Harvey! LOL!
No raisins...
Raisins are the DEVIL! :scared:
I've got several things that are in the favorites category...but I'll guess you'll just have to wait until the auction starts to see which ones they are :bigsmyl: !
Claudia
I can see a knife coming to Canada when this is over.
Just about ALL of them!<><
Hey! Guess what? Bidding starts Monday (May 28th) - @ 12 AM no less - and runs 'til the following Sunday (June 3rd) evening at 8PM (assuming I read and transferred it correctly - LOL)

Would that be paper money there Iron Bull ????
For me it is a toss up between the "Copperhead Arrow" by Guru and the "Knapped stonepoints" by Knife River. Many great items!
Right here and now I want to say that I would bid on each and every item on those pages if I had the wherewithall - and be glad to win any of them - bless you all, bless us all.
Eagle,
Step away from them points, slowly very.... very..
slowly.
Regards, bert
And Walt Francis puts us on page 5!
Congrats to Walt Francis - and everyone before him who made it possible for him to be in that position - :D
