Can someone please tell me how to put a a piece of otter or fox fur on the bow string for a silencer? Do you tie it on, weave it on, etc...? Thx, Brian
Weave it into the string tighty, and locate them around the fade out or just above them.
Brian, put the end between your string bundles. Then wrap it around the entire string overlapping it slightly. When you get to the end, stick the tag between the bundles again. It's simple and works great. I like to putt mine on at the quarter. measure your string, divide by 4 then measure that distance from the end and put them there.
I find fur to be the best string silencer of all ... until it gets wet, at which point you have a messy sea-anchor on your string that pops and sprays water with every shot, and the fur soon decomposes. I use mink, which you'd think would be waterproof. If anyone know a kind of fur that doesn't become a sponge when wet, please let us know. Dave
BEFORE YOU PLACE THE SILENCER IN THE STRING UNTWIST YOUR STRING THEN INSERT THE SILENCERS SO WHEN YOU RETWIST THE STRING IT WILL TIGHTEN THE SILENCER
This could get interesting. Two Brian P's on the same message board.

Brian, You want to make sure that you wrap the fur in the same direction of the string twist so it stays tight on the string.
