Title: Bow for my nephew
Post by: Fritz Brown on May 17, 2007, 05:19:00 PM
There seems to be a paucity of selfbow making lately.  Well, to hopefully break the lull I thought I would post the bow I finished up yesterday for my little sister's youngest son. Last winter I showed some of my bows to my brother in law and nephew. Of course they both wanted one.  So here is the one I made for my nephew.

It is 53 inches nock to nock and draws 30 pounds at 25 inches.  I overlaid the tips with elk antler and made the arrow rest out of leather and superglue like Dave Bulla did in a build along here a year or so ago.

Here is is at it's full draw:

Anyway,  thanks for looking and all comments welcome.

Looks good.  Want to be the god-parent to my kids?!  LOL.

Excellent!  Congrats for bringing a new shooter to the fold.....or should I say addiction?  Hope you have a few dozen arrows to go along with it (wouldn't give him more than 3 at a time though).
