Title: Taking the longbow for a walk
Post by: Kevin Bahr on May 17, 2007, 09:27:00 AM
Well, it's settled:  my Robertson Overdrive and Thunderstick TD will be going to Moloka'i on June 6.  My son Chase will most likely be carrying a Zipper TD recurve.  Guess I better get some arrows ready to fly...

Kevin,
Is this the really, really expensive trip?  Your wife isn't going?  You might want to talk to Doug Campbell about taking an eight weight fly rod for some fishing while there.

Sure thing Kevin, some dandy flats fishin on Molokai. Course with Walter you might be spearing em instead of using an 8wt  ;)

You and Chase have a ball and tell Walter howdy for me.   :wavey:

Will do, Doug. You know, I could really go for some bowfishing in Hawaii.  Chase is a certified diver so if there's any spearing to be done, he and Walter will have to do it.  Me, I dive like a feather and swim like a rock.
Walt, I wouldn't know how to fly fish if there wasn't something BEHIND me to snag, HA!  Oh no, we will definitely have Karen with us!  It would be waaaay too expensive to leave her home...
Mick, yep, my wife rarely lets me do any bowhunting so I gotta take what I can get...
Joe we'll be after pigs, goats, deer, etc.  Or as Walter told me last time I was there, shoot anything that has 4 legs that walks in range, unless it's got a collar and a leash on it...

Kevin you can't shoot but one bow at a time. If you need someone to shoot the other bow, I will volunteer to help you out. LOL. Good luck and take plenty of pictures.
Jack

Lessee here now.  New Bow.  Trip to Hawaii in June.  All the family.  Probably have hunts in Idaho, Montana, Illnoies and Alaska lined up for late summer and fall.

Just can't hide money.

Bowhunting in Hawaii, Kevin you get all the dirty jobs  :banghead:  I'll be thinking about you working hard while I get to be in Minnesota swatting skeeters.  You poor soul you.

Mark, haven't you heard?  PLASTIC makes the world go 'round, LOL!  Actually I can't make it to AK this fall, gotta go to Newfoundland in September instead, darn it.
Steve, it's a dirty job, but someone has to do it!  I don't think they have skeeters in Hawaii, so I'll be thinking about you and Kellie also while we're there.  I know they could use more AC repairmen there...
Hey Jack!  I have to take two bows so people don't ask me why I need so many arrows...I'll just tell them they're for someone else.  Course that will only work til they see me shoot...
