I've seen people make reference several times on here to putting a coat of CYA on items that they are working on.
How do you do that? My experience has been that the stuff sticks almost instantly, so I can't see using a brush. Can it be sprayed?
Help me out. I've got some bone to use for knife scales and it would be great to coat it.
I use gloves (obviously), I use the good hobby store stuff, and rub it on with my fingers. Don't worry TOO much if it isn't smooth, you still have some sanding to do afterwards.... at least I do.

They cut it with acetone....you can do the same with most epoxies, and wipe it on as a finish...
I cut some different epoxies and sprayed some or wiped some on by hand...as stated, there may still be some sanding to do....
As far as cutting it, you basically add acetone until it just breaks up the ca, and allows it to run smoothly, but not as light as water...
I use my finger. As long as it is wet it won't stick. Later I peel the glue residue off of my finger tip. Pat
Thanks guys. I'll give it a try.
