Title: Tying a nock
Post by: shortstroke 91 on May 07, 2007, 07:47:00 PM
Can anyone tell me or direct me on how to tie a nock on the string. I remember seeing it somewhere but can't find it right now.

Thanks,

Brandon,

I just do a "nine knot" nock.  It's basically just eight overhand knots alternating between one side of the string then the other.  The ninth knot is making a square knot out of number eight.  A careful hand with a lighter to clean up the tag ends and you are done.  I use monofilament serving and this knot allows me to "thread" the nock up or down as needed for adjustment.

Here's a tutorial that Ray Hammond did....  Adjustable nocking point (http://tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=000014)
