Title: Broadheads and Adapters
Post by: Interseptor on May 06, 2007, 05:55:00 PM
When your trying to spin test broadheads & adpters, do you firt put the broadhead and adapter together, spin test it and then aply the glue to  the back of the broadhead where it meets the Adapter?  Or do you put the glue inside of the broadhead and then place the adapter in the broadhead.  I'm asking because I saw some broadheads that were put together by a bowyer and it looked as if he glued them from the back after the insert had been applied.  It also looked as if the broadhead/adapter had been glued to the arrow and could not be removed without heat.

Heat the glue (firl-tite), then put a dab on the adapter. Then hold the broad head with pliers over heat, make sure the flame gets up inside the BH and is hot. Insert adapter, twist, and let cool.

Or you can use epoxy, JB weld, or whatever. Alan

I think you were just seeing some excess glue that had oozed out.

I use 24hr epoxy. It gives you lots of time to spin test them and adjust if required. Don't forget to use solvent/alcohol to clean them first.
