Hi guys aquired a metal riser fred bear bow need some help to figure out about it . when it was made and what its worth . its a metal riser green in color . brown limbs dont look to be wood . says custom on one sticker on the riser and says hvy wgt deluxe 64" custom 58" 45"# arrow on another sticker on the limb and bear archery grayling MI canada 1970 on another sticker on the limb . has a silver raised medalion on the riser the limbs are brown and the rubber grip is blue . any help would be apreciated .
If the limbs are solid glass, it sounds like a Bear 76er. It was an entry level bow.
They sell on **** for around 100.00 depending on condition. Funny thing is, I have seen just the plastic grip go for about 45.00. A lot of the 76ers that you find are missing the plastic grip for some reason.
All in all, they aren't bad shooters. I use a bow just about like it for bowfishing. Mine is a "Minuteman." The only real difference between the Minuteman and the 76er is that the limbs on the Minuteman are laminated with a wood core.
Hope this helps.

Oops...I'f I'm not mistaken, they started making the 76ers in 1975 and I think they made them for 3 or 4 years. Not really sure. If nobody else chimes in, I will ask my friend who is a Bear collector...he will know the exact years.

ok thanks so if the grip is with it it should sell for a bit more ? it looks in very good condition and yes the limbs are glass solid brown .this is a RH bow and i am LH so it will be moving along .Thanks Jeff
How do the limbs attach? That will help in deciding which model you have.
they slide in and lock no lever or nothing .
Ok, so it is a Minuteman or 76er
how you tell the diffrence ? It doesnt say either on it .
76er has solid glass limbs, Minuteman has wood core. Also, the Minuteman will say Minuteman on the top limb.
