Title: >>>-------------> traditional bowhunting only
Post by: Mooseman on May 03, 2007, 07:24:00 PM
Well, I got some news for you.......... As of May 1st 2007 we are a 100% Traditional Only Guiding Outfit. We still have a couple of rifle and compound clients booked for 2007 and 2008 but the rest and all new bookings for my guiding area are and will be 100% Traditional Bowhunters only. That combined with the European Tradition of using tracking dogs to find wounded game I can honestly say that we are proud of what we do and how we do it. Perhaps this day might be marked in a hunting history book somewhere.

As far as I know we are the first to go Traditional Only in BC. I am not sure yet what else it could mean in the big picture but I am sure we will have a lot of fun at work.   :p

Michael,

Thanks for the PM reply. As I had written in my PM I was happy to hear of your going only traditional. Lets talk about a 2009 moose hunt for me.
Looking forward to getting to British Columbia next week. Stalking bears with a stickbow; does it get any better?

Michael, Congratulations!  I think it is wonderful that you are going all trad!  I hope it works out well for you, and can't imagine why it won't with what I have heard of your set up.
I sent a PM about a possible trip in 2008 or 2009.

WOW. I thought I would let you guys know and did hope for some posts but nothing like that! Thank you all for your support and wishes here at trad gang, e-mails, PM's and phone calls. I am stunned and more excited about it then ever. If I missed any once PM or mail please let me know. That caught me off guard and I think I mixed some up.

Buff - I too am looking forward meeting you guys this Fall !

John III - I am packing and ready to get you at the airport next Tuesday with Dave the winner from the 3 Rivers draw.

Keith - I know! It is a long wait but they will grow a little more for you and your gang.

Falk - Da sind wir hoffnungsvoll und zuversichtlich. Danke Dir !

Denny - Thanks, DQ and the rest of us had a blast. I hope he is slowly forgetting when Scott shot his bull at 9 yards and I had pushed the PAUSE button   :knothead:

Terry - I am very much looking forward to that hunt and to meet all of you.

May i ask why.

wtpops - Thank you for your comments. As for why: The reasons why we all hunt with a trad bow are kind of the same reasons.

The Traditional pictures on your web page are one of the main reasons We booked with you. Many of the Moose hunts are bait and switch. You book a bow hunt and the day you get into camp they start trying to hand you a gun. I hope and expect you will do well with this move.

I like the European tradition of using dogs to track game and hope to get a Deutsch Drahthaar sometime soon.  What breed will you be using?

Scott G, I send you a PM since this is a different subject. Feel free to e-mail me with questions or comments about tracking dogs.
Don't expect a quick answer as we are on our way out the door for another bear hunt.
